Use this for motivation. The system works. Trotz is a beast. Most teams that win the cup almost ALWAYS go through a heartbreaker in years prior. It took the Lightning 1 finals loss and 2 conference finals losses to finally break through. Pens lost in 08 before winning in 09. Chicago lost in 09 WCF before breaking through the next year. Blues lost in the WCF before winning the cup. Ducks in 03 then won in 07. Canes in 02 then won in 06. Islanders can absolutely be on that list as well. They have that championship pedigree and just need a quick retool. Isles can be right back here again buddy
The Islanders need to shoot more. Put more pucks on goal, simple as that. Next seasons philosophy should be shoot first and ask questions later. No fewer than 30 shots per game see how the win rate magically improves.
