We move into 3rd in the pacific but the problem is we fall off a cliff at least one period a game it seems. Not only that, is somebody going to address the damn reffing situation in this league, WTF is going on??

  2. Reluctant-Sergal

Stole the point with horrible officiating. Take it and focus on the next one.

  3. Consistent-Minute-40

Great job storming into the offensive zone all by yourself and instantly giving up possession then taking a penalty Fiala! Fucking idiot

  4. BeatStriker

For people blaming Fiala on that final play, he was SUPPOSE to take the penalty. As Nickson and Fox said, Fiala did a smart thing, rather take a penalty than letting a 2v1 happen. A 2v1 breakout is more dangerous than a 4v3 powerplay

Weak ass call. Especially for OT.

3/4 points against Vancouver is awesome even if Vancouver are coming back down to earth and LA got some nice timing for games against them. Hard to be too mad even if LA’s performance tonight was pretty lackluster.

I swear Demko always wins when he’s the starting goalie in LA

Tight game with two good teams. Sometimes you lose those. We can definitely hang with Vancouver though, even a bit short handed.

Hard fought point. High level game. Nice rebound in the 3rd after a bad 2nd period.

Refs called back to back penalties in the 2nd and then essentially swallowed their whistles the rest of the way. 3v3 they let Fiala get his jersey tugged from behind and then call Fiala for the exact same thing a few seconds later. Absolutely maddening and inconsistent. Fuck that. Otherwise nice point, GKG

Do kings fans get bored watching the kings play? Because my god..

Demko really loves elevating his play when it’s the LA Kings 🙈

Refs sucked, but Kings still could’ve won this game if a bounce or two more had gone our way. Canucks are a good team, but the Kings look well matched against them. Excluding the 3v3 OT that won’t happen in the playoffs, we’re dominant.

8-4-1 since we fired Todd. Byfield is looking awesome with the extra ice time.

Honestly, the issue isn’t the Fiala holding call – I take greater issue with his decision to try to dance 1 on 2 into the zone in overtime.

That’s the Fiala hope play that we’ve been saying he’s been doing a good job of avoiding lately.

OT is all about possession. He shouldn’t be trying by to stick handle through a crowd like that. He’s got to know that the smart play is pull up, find a pass to a trailing teammate, and see if you can isolate an odd man situation.

Just a classic night where our shots were off the bar and the officiating went against us. Stole a point and this team has its identity back overall. GKG

That still put us back in third place. Well tied, but Vegas played one more game than us

This 1-3-1 defense with 0 forecheck is so frustrating. If this is the strategy they want to carry into the playoffs might as well be sellers now and stock up while we find a real coach

Points are points. I’ll take em. Not what we wanted, but these Canucks are the business this year.

Cool with the point and 3rd period snap back. Side note; I’ve never really watched 43 and 40 play, especially 43 skate. Damn. Fast open and skilled team. But i like our chances in a series if it comes to it.

  18. Qthesun14

I think with that, the Kings officially have the worst OT/SO win percentage in the NHL this season. Only 4 post-regulation wins in 13 games (31%). Missing out on those points sucks

  19. aughtrocktalk

Got a point and moved up in the standings. We can clearly hang with the best in the division. Just gotta keep making forward progress and go strong into the playoffs

  20. anyone else doesnt wanna face edm again ? i take van over them any day

Post game tacos always hit the spot 😮‍💨

Loved PLD’s post-whistle physicality this game. Nice to see that fire. I was worried that our 3 almost goals in 30 seconds would be the decider. That has hurt us all season. I will never understand why we avoid Byfield for overtime.

Overall I think we did well considering we couldn’t win faceoffs and they seemed to have solved blue line entry.

  23. dre2112

You just knew that Vancouver was going to win it in OT after the first few seconds watching them skate and move the puck while the kings looked like they were skating in wet cement. This team doesn’t have an answer to speed outside of moore and Byfield who never get to see the ice in OT anyways.

  24. greygh0st44

Swiped a point in a game where we were terrible in the faceoff dot and seemingly a step behind from the puck drop.

Not a great game, but not a bad one either. I hope we get the canucks in the playoffs. Very beatable team.

  26. Cagekicker52

Lot of things to take away from this game. A lot of people are talking about OT and Fiala etc. But that’s irrelevant really.

The main takeaway here is that when the studs on both sides are locked up in a stalemate and our studs are basically gassed. It comes down to that 4th line. Enter JAD and Lewis. Flat out not good enough for NHL play. This is coming down to the wire for playoff spots between our division and the wildcard. There is no excuse to have a player blow a wide open net. Or players who are just flat out not good enough and ineffective to even play as 4th liners. That cost us the game more than anything else. 4 to 7 mins a night for Brandt Clarke is an embarrassment.

Competing with the best teams in the league while down 3 of your top ~9 players doesn’t seem like a bad thing to me
