Hopefully they do change change it

3rd time in 4 years for them? I mean I understand shit happens but Martinez played nearly 18 minutes the other night and now suddenly can’t play the rest of the season? Gee not suspicious at all./s

Not with that sweet, sweet Vegas money coming in.

  4. DJ_Necrophilia

Honestly, if a player is on LTIR at the deadline then they ought to be ineligible to play until next season

The NHL is sadly becoming more and more corrupt. Disingenuous stuff like this is ruining the game.

  6. I hope they shit the bed and miss the playoffs.

Hey man, they’re called Golden Children for a reason. Lay off of them!

Welcome to professional hockey. If you’re not greasy on or off the ice you’re not winning.

…and that is the intended design.

This isn’t a Vegas problem in particular. Idk why you’re all complaining about them specifically.

Without a wisp of irony or shame – the Oilers should put Cody Ceci on LTIR for….oh, I dunno…chronic diarrhea and reallocate his cap space.

Which is precisely what Vegas keep doing. Identify a high cap hit player they can do without for a while, give him an in season vacation and exceed the cap until the playoffs, and then get the band back together magically.

It’s a fucking joke that stopped being funny two Mark Stones ago.

GMs were fine with this rule in play at one of the recent GM meetings. They all know it exists and they all have the ability to do it

Honestly, it should be a rule that once a player is on the LTIR and the team gets cap relief then said player can’t play in the off season. That’ll stop teams from putting their best players on the LTIR for this stuff.

Mark Stone literally had 6-8 weeks, what about that is long term? Meanwhile Kirby Dach gets a season ending injury in his second game but doesn’t? Everything about this is ridiculous.

If it’s good enough for Tampa, it’s good enough for Vegas

To get cap relief from LTIR players, a random selection of doctors from other teams should have to confirm the diagnosis, and the test results, xrays, etc, should have to be available to all teams.
