Waited too long and wouldn’t give up prospects for an elite 2/3 d when our d core has been problematic to downright awful all year. Declining Hedman and we still wouldn’t address it. Well sell or retain more contracts because fuck all of this.

Howard better come to us in the Fall and score 30 next year my fuck. We’re so screwed. Now all I need to hear is we’re giving Stammer 6 million my fuck.

Curious to know what the return is, like what could Vegas have offered that we couldn’t match?

In all likelihood it’s just a rental for them, so there’s a chance Hanifin’s camp basically forcing the trade to be with us might have screwed us in the end.

If you genuinely thought the team would trade for Hanifin you are a moron

I am very curious as to who JBB didn’t want to give up. Also to what Vegas have better be a first

Honestly not super torn up over this. It’s a little annoying because there’s been several weeks of build up, but long term another LHD is not really what the team needs at the immediate moment. Hanifin would have been a luxury and that would have been an expensive left side.

I’m glad JBB didn’t way overpay here as he is known to do. Use our cap space to recoup some assets, maybe tinker around the edges and assess where retooling is needed in the offseason

This pretty much tells me 2 things Number 1: JBB does not think this team is a cup contender this year. Number 2: we just don’t have the attractive assets anymore (outside of howard) to pull off a deal like this. That Jeannot trade is looking worse and worse by the day.

Friendship ended with Hanifin, now Chychrun is my new best friend/delulu trade target

  8. It sucks, since the rich gets richer, but I’m glad we didn’t waste stuff on someone we didn’t need.

We need more depth scoring so I’d rather us pick up something there or more picks if we can help other teams give up stuff for rentals.

  9. Chychrun to me was the interesting one JBB was kicking tires on. You could realistically pick him up and still resign Stamkos

I’m sorry but JBB is turning us into the pens. And I don’t like it.

I don’t see where Tampa would have had the scratch to pay Hanafin next year, unless someone was willing to take Cernak. I’m fine with no rentals this season.

I don’t think he would have made that much of a difference. Yes we have defensive woes but we also have a botttom 6 scoring issue. Sheary literally black holes any line he’s on. We also don’t have a forward that can go out and change momentum with physical play. Maybe we can buy a few more draft picks before we turn into the Penguins.

Jbb better do something before it’s too late and everyone gets traded cause ngl if he does nothing this will be his fault+ deserves to get fired for that terrible jeannot overpaid trade and which jeannot hasn’t done anything for us

Still possible he doesn’t resign with them so maybe we can still scoop him in the off season

I don’t understand how the entire sub convinced themselves we would get Hanifin. What assets do we have to give up that doesn’t either keep us in the same situation (D for D) or make us worse (trading one of our top 6 forwards). People saying we weren’t willing to give up assets to get Hanifin, what assets? Howard? The guy the whole sub thinks is a middle 6? How’s he command a price that let’s us get a top 4, young defenseman, even with picks thrown in? Curious to see what Vegas gave up.

Edit: yeah Vegas had the better deal for Calgary.
