    Holy fuck out of nowhere

Honestly excited to see why. Bunting didn’t seem to fit as well as I would have hoped. I do wish him luck, I still enjoyed his time here.

Edit: Out of all of the analysts and armchair GMing did anyone call this? Some of us spent days updating Twitter and coming up with theories.

  2. Anviski

The dude was just at Canes Corner last night! That’s definitely a bit awkward.

Gutted to see him go, but holy shit it’s happening

  4. Cinnamon_Shops

In case anyone forgot: Dubas called us about Bunting earlier this year

    👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

If it was for Guentzel, that’d be okay. Otherwise I don’t want to see him go.

  6. Carolina_913

If this lines up with the Kaplan report of us likely landing guentzel, I have to imagine that Dubas wants his boy back

    Good bye sweet prince.

Enjoy Pittsburgh and reuniting with Kyle

I’m gonna miss Bunting man, he’s played his ass off here. That being said, if he’s one of the pieces that lands us Guentzel or Buchnevich then so be it

Called this shit yesterday sadly :/
Right after his canes corner too

So we lost Bunting, TDA and Lemieux… almost all the trash talkers and physical players on an already soft team. I dont get it.

I’ve been down voted all week for saying that Bunting could be one of the pieces.  He slots in immediately as Guentzel’s replacement.

Assuming it’s for Guentzel or Buchnevich, it’s a good trade. But with that and waiving Lemieux and TDA it seems like our team just got a lot softer. I hope the rest of them can still step up when we play a physical team like Florida.

Really sad to see him go. Solid player and brought us energy.

  14. yeathatswhatshesaid

So who is going to play tonight in his spot since we put Lemieux and TDA on waivers?

  15. geeRail

I know it’s rather immaterial in the grand scheme – but with Lemmy and TDA on waivers the Canes are a man/forward short this evening, aren’t they? I guess you can play with 19? Never did know that rule-

  16. WizardOfOzzieA

I… don’t think I like this. Guentzel will be great but we really won’t have any teeth going into the playoffs if Lemeiux and TDA get claimed.

Hoping the Don is still cooking and is bringing in a knuckle dragger with Guentzel

  17. Like17Badgers

well if he IS gone that’ll mean we can actually get calls in our favor again finally(hopefully)

I know it’s Pit bc of the familiarity with KD, but a little bit of me was hoping it was for buch

I enjoyed watching Bunting play – good goal scorer in traffic and had some bastard in him, which the Canes needed and still needed even if he stayed here. I kinda wondered if he’d be the trade bait since it seemed like with him more than anyone else Rodney didn’t know what line to put him on.

Agreed with rest the Canes Need More Bastard. <tm>

I don’t think trading 4 yrs of Bunting for less than 1/2 a season of Geuntzel is a good trade.

  21. recneps1992

If lemeiux and tda get claimed we went right back to being the softest team in the league again. Shame.

  22. Bethlehemstarr

This one is breaking my heart. I’ve really enjoyed watching him play the last couple of months. It really felt like he was finally fitting in well.

Went to Canes corner last night to see him.

  23. syd_cash

    I’m just happy it’s not Necas 🥰

  24. Unholydiver919

Guentzel is a major upgrade for this team. Lemieux and TDA may or may not be claimed. We need goal scoring hands down.

So all of the guys acquired to « get tougher » are going to be gone?  Not sure that’s good.
