  1. NO Isles wont do shit because they can't do shit. Isles can't compete against the big contenders and for the big fish at tdl. mittelstadt for byram sabre/av deal. av's also add walker from flyers. rags get wennberg for two picks. oil get henrique/carrick from quacks for a first. And cats get vt for a ridiculous fourth/cond. third (separate drafts) that moves to second if fla. wins cup plus sens retain 50%. You mean louzer couldn't have made that deal?
Just face it-this b0z0 can't compete in tdl or in cap world and has to have a coach save his out of date ass for success. That's why louzer is on his third coach is less than three seasons. And riding the hot sticks of a few players backs into chase for eighth mode because there is nothing else he can do. And keeping the band together at tdl once again means another run back with this roster-again-next season. Louzer can't find a spot for 44 anywhere with contending teams looking for center depth? Or be brash and move varly to a goalie starved team-oh wait the overpay in years for a 34 year old goalie prevents that. B's may move ullmark. Markstrom still out there. Buch., toffoli too. Pens know they have to sell and will move guentzal and others for prospects not picks by friday. Wings not done as well-will make another move by tdl. And vgk somehow got hanifan as they make big splashes every tdl and win a cup. And flames cashing in their ufa chips since they have players without 200 years of term on them that teams want. Meanwhile louzer can sit back and watch tdl festivities stymied from joining the fun by his own stupidity rosterbation and cap wise. Just hope 21's stick can remain hot last 20 games to get isles into playoffs. And good luck thinking 26 will get you anything but a crusty old donut at tdl. And no no one wants to take any of louzer's overpaid term garbage off of his hands. Maybe with 24 on ir louzer can pick up granlund's inflated deal for a third-oops don't have it, a second. And hopefully that first is saved with louzer saved from himself this tdl.
And property bros. are fine with a chase for eighth as long as it gets them two games of playoff revenue-long term damage be damned. The longer the run back the longer the re-build. SORRY IF THAT TRUTH IS TOO HARSH FOR SOME. Not trying to dampen the job st. roy is doing. Saving louzer's crinkly old ass. SORRY FOR THE LONG RANT.

  2. The Islanders could have given a package that the Panthers received for Tarasenko. That would have helped them with their scoring depth.

  3. Louzer should go after another old bum ufa carter from pens for second then re-up carter 7 years. A total louzer move. And wings just got thumped 7-2 by av's, yzerman trade level now hot.
And isles will be inactive this tdl. Get used to that. It will be 4-5 years before isles can be fully active at tdl. Got to wait for bad long term deals to be dumped/bought out or expire before re-build can take place. And nothing in assets/picks to deal makes re-build that much more difficult unless a brash trade of say 8, 13, 29, or 30 the only way to gain assets/picks occurs. None of the past their prime aging fwds. or 3, 6 held onto too long will get isles anything. That's why keeping those firsts/picks is of importance next few seasons. Enjoy this run. It will be the last. Hopefully louzer's last hurrah. Sad to see this team sit idly by knowing one big hole needs to be filled and can't do a fkn thing about it.

  4. i think it would have been a huge mistake getting tarasenko when we clearly have the assets from within. I have watched the games in bridgeport and ive seen the type of goals ishikov and maggio have scored. They are legit goalscorers BOTH of them. Now regarding pageau ,hes a all purpose utility player he plays with heart every shift he is great on faceoffs he plays a responsible 2 way game AND he can score dont forget he had 26 goals not long ago in one season.I would bench martin and wahlstrom and bring in ishikov and maggio that in itself is a HUGE upgrade that could get us really rolling. I have always said we have the horses to go the distance .Look we were just 1 game away from the stanley cup finals 3 years ago. So there is turnover players get older some dont pan out etc thats why you replace martin and wahlstrom with ishikov and maggio. We now have the coaching as well in roy.I would also like to say RIP Claire Arbour without your assistance in helping our coach Al Arbour we are not the greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports.Long Island is really so beautiful ,the farther out east the better tell me one place in the world that is more beautiful than eastern long island/ montauk/orient point ? So quiet tranquil and incredibly peaceful out there.

  5. If only our GM addressed that black hole on 1st line LW last summer and the summer before that. At least we have a newly formed Killer B 1st line.

  6. Gil,we know a normal gm would move all his soon to be free agents. Martin, clutter, aho, wahlstrom( I wouldn’t) . Plus I believe that would make the team better. Especially having iskhakov in the lineup will help us in case of shootout’s.I would be playing Bolduc over aho, Reilly and of course mayfield. Islanders are the only team in the NHL that bury their youth. When bortuzzo is healthy I would insert him right back in the lineup. I think Samuel really played well with bortuzzo earlier in the season. At the very least the fossil should bring in duclair. I would put him on the first line and put brock back on the second line where he’s more noticeable.

  7. I was all for throwing in the towel and trading for assets and picks for the future but Lou has made it very apparent that he won't do that. This leads me to say push all the chips in. Fine. If you want to make a run, go get Guentzal. I know Penhuins are highly unlikely to trade within conference, but make an offer they can't refuse. Let's make a genuine run and get better. He seems to be the only earth-changing player still available. Other players can make us better, but I doubt they make substantial impact in our outcome. Go all in and make a genuine run.

  8. All I know is another season of status Quo isn't going to work. So just dump every boat anchor you can. They're not cup caliper anyway. So actually thinking of the future might be smart. OMG did I say "think"??? Alot to ask of this management! Again 1985!

  9. Knowing how tight Lou is with sharing his cards I wonder if he’s purposely waiting to announce any deal he may have until after the deadline.

  10. I think a trade will depend on how far Lou thinks this team can go. Roy has proven to me that what he said when he joined the Isles is true…"This is a playoff team". They shouldn't need any help doing that, but I can't imagine any trade that makes us a real threat to win the cup. There's too many stacked teams we would have to get thru, and those teams are making trades to get even better. This draft is supposed to be very weak. IF Yoda decides to part with another first, he better hold on to the few 'B' prospects we have.

  11. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? There's just over 24 hours left in the trade ďeadline, and The Islanders have yet to do any wheeling and dealing, but staff's been known to happen. Tatasenko's coming to South Florida. I heard Kyle Okospo's days in Buffalo are numbered. Maybe he'll come back to The Islanders. The Islanders are in San Jose. For The Islanders sake, I hope The 🦈 don't pick a fine ⌚ to smell blood. The Islanders have been looking better ever since Patrick Roy started with line changes. Al Arbour would be proud. HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂, BILLY MCMILLAN. Hear from you tomorrow, Gil. LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  12. I don’t get nhl why have trade deadline on a Friday so it’s buried by weekend and not thurs so sports channels can talk out it the next day? Sometimes I wonder who is in charge of promoting game hetter

  13. Gm Gil. The Isles management has not shown much skill at their bread and butter which is the club roster, building prospects in the farm system, and player contracts. I am not expecting much as there is not a lot of talent out there. The Isles should be shedding players through trade, waivers, and contract buyouts setting the stage for the post Lou M era. This team might scrape into the playoffs but are not a serious contender. old news.

  14. Good morning team. Gil, great information as always. I wish our GM was as open as you are. Something is looming, I just don't have a clue as to what it is. Trade day is tomorrow. Maybe he'll have a press conference and we'll hear about it by Saturday. We're out west for 3 games, and I'm hoping the Sharks will be an easy 2 point night, if we continue to play our newly found assaulting style. Keep killing those penalties! Can't watch this one, I have an early day, but I'll wake up sometime during the middle of the night to check out your short and get the final score. Everyone have a great rest of the day. See you all tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  15. I would love to get Jake Guentzel but I think it`s a Pipe dream! LIke you said Gil, they just don`t have much they could offer Pittsburgh. He is a costly aquisition to sign as well.

  16. If Lou trades a 1 st rounder it better be for Brady deal with sens otherwise don’t trade a 1st under any other circumstance. Duclair should not cost much Wally and a 4 th or 5th pick.

  17. Kyle MacLean is an NHL player for the rest of his career. (Here or anywhere else) If Casey could finish? He’d be a 20-25 goal scorer, easily every year, but unfortunately, he just can’t finish. I agree with you 100% about the 2nd line and I know you were concerned about over using our best players and putting them all on the same line, but like you said, as long as those other 3 lines can continue to support and contribute? All is good. Let’s go Isles!

  18. I was just looking at schedules for Tampa, Wings and Flyers. If the Isles win against the Sharks and Ducks, there's a real good chance they are in the playoffs on Monday. It would be tenuous, but that would be an epic turn around by Roy and his new lines.
