Klim we hardly knew thee. People will be upset by this.

  2. Salamangra

Fuck man. I know he didn’t get a lot of playtime but I still liked what he brought when he did play. Fuck, I was so pumped when we got him too 🙁 I saw his playoffs with Edmonton and I thought we got a helluva player.

  3. Brooksie019

Any one know anything about this guy? Never heard of him before

  4. AintNoBuffet

getting a 7th dman in return in my eyes means holl is next to go

Edit: They sent Radim Simek down right away, could this be edvinsson getting called up?

  5. Thick-Journalist-590

Damn… I really liked the Klim Reaper. We need more grit

  6. I think this move is more for Berggren and shedding Kostins salary. Simek should be an AHL guy.

  7. Spartandawgs9

Definitely a cap clearing move, right?

  8. Soggy_Jigger

Klim was a stud in the playoffs last year for Edmonton. Was looking forward to seeing that version of him when we get in.

  9. SnowballJackson

We’re just clearing cap. It’s ok boys

  10. sunshineeeeeeeeeeee_

Of course when I clock into work something happens

  11. WarOtter

This has big « re-arranging my sock drawer » energy.

  12. energizernutter

He’s showing as being in Grand rapids on elite prospects

  13. FragmentEx

Thank you Klim! You are a dawg and I for one enjoyed having you on the team

  14. OvercookedFettucini

Getting minor assets in exchange for a salary dump seems okay. It’s too bad Kostin didn’t work out, but I guess best to get even minor assets for him than just having him sit.

  15. onbiver9871

    Hmm, there’s Bergy’s spot open I guess.

  16. Apprehensive-Ear-847

Ah fuck man. I’ll Never forget the interaction me and my buddy had at the Oilers game with Kostin last month. Sad to see him go 🙁

  17. Based on elite prospects, he is in fact a Griffin? Not a wing

  18. whitelightning91

According to CapFriendly, Kostin was a $2M cap hit and now Simek is listed as a $1.1M buried penalty, so the move saves 900k. Still over $3M in space.

  19. 4plates1barbell

Count me as one of those who thought Kostin would make an impact. Guess not. Might as well move the $ and call up Burgers

  20. BehemothManiac

I see, loading up for the Calder Cup run

  21. dandiogenes

Loved Klim but I get the sense that Stevie started to feel he’s wasting offensive prowess on not having Berggren in the lineup so he moves one of our lesser wingers. Would’ve liked a better return obviously but at least we got something whilst also opening up room for our best offensive prospect at the moment.

That whole thing to get Kostin and buy out Yamamoto seems really weird now. But hey no harm, no foul, the world keeps spinning

  23. h0ckeyphreak

Meh, I never really saw the attraction for him, but if it gets one of our AHL studs up, I’m for it.

  24. SpiritBamba

Cap dump, might see holl moved too if we are trying to create cap space.

  25. TheBrothersClegane

A 7th and the Czech Brian Lashoff for clearing up the cap isn’t terrible. Not an exciting move but a necessary one.

  26. DarkRitNighthawk

I’m gonna miss Kostin’s “I don’t speak English” in the social media videos

  27. Berggren got the call up today, we shed a bottom 6 guy, if we trade a bottom 3 dman, I think Simon gets the call up soon as well especially adding a ahl D man to replace him with

  28. TheAnalogKid18

If our deadline acquisition is a Patrick Kane extension then I’m alright with this.

  29. Late_Brush4518

Cap space is nice as we dont have that much for next season

  30. VHDLEngineer

Kailer Yamamoto died for this 😢

  31. redliondesu

I liked Klim in theory but he barely played and got hurt like 7 times in 3 months when he did. He’s not an important or impactful player so not really worried about trading him.

  32. Professional_Book_16

Definitely one of the trades of all time.

  33. Background_Junket_35

Maybe he is meant to bolster the griffins for a playoff run in case we want to call up Ed?

  34. Clean-Connection-656

Uh Kostin was like our only fighter…

  35. TheGoldenGoose10

Weird move considering he would be useful to have in the playoffs.

  36. silverfang789

Will Simek start immediately? We need all the help we can get.
