Great moves by jbb here, dumba for free duke for not much, kept their first in 26 and howard and gauthier their best prospects. I still think the lightning need a roster re tool but u can’t really do that at the trade deadline.

It's a huge departure from the regular Tampa MO of overpaying for a couple depth players at the deadline to fill in the cracks. I don't think that there's a lot of teams who wouldn't make this deal if they could find the cap space and a few without the cap space would find a 3rd party to make it happen.
Most wild fans knew he wouldn't be traded for much. Wild tried to trade him for years but after his injury there was no trade market for him

I don't get it. Dumba's on a 1 year deal for 3.9m with AZ. There's no contract to dump. Hard to believe a 5th was the best offer league wide….and a 6th for Zucker who also signed a 1 year deal with AZ that expires after this season, again no salary to dump. I might call Bill Armstrong to see what I can get out of him.
I cannot remember the last time deadline day became a seller's market like this. This never happens.

So we used a 5th round pick and that got us retention on Lyubushkin. Tampa uses a 5th and gets Dumba and a 7th. Dafaq?
