@Canucks de Vancouver

Aucune date limite ne bouge mais AllWin nous a amené DeSmith, Lafferty, Friedman, Zadorov et Lindholm cette saison. L’équipe est 2ème de la ligue.

Yup, they just had zero cap left and no tradeable assets anymore. Pretty sure we still lead the league in # of trades this season lol

  2. JTMilleriswortha1st

Yeah that’s my exact thoughts. Would it have been nice to add some more pieces? yeah for sure but Allvin has done some great work before the deadline and we are doing amazing. Glad we didn’t bite too hard. Still have Hog,Lek and Willander

  3. StarkStorm

Yeah. Only Lindholm has been playing better as of late IMO

  4. SuddenlyChineseFood

Would be interesting to see the entire year in review.

Jets, Vegas, and Canucks probably ended up with the most total roster changes compared to the end of last season.

Sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t make.

I think people need to remember that playoff series are at best loaded crap shoots. And especially with the gauntlet the Western Conference is, a first round exit is very possible…no matter what happens in the first, that second round is going to be brutal, and we probably will see at least two elite teams booted in the first round.

  6. gonuxgo

our trade deadline acquisition was carson soucy

  7. LarryD217

It’s been a very fun season. Waking up to find the Nucks won is a great way to start my day. They’ve been great all year and I’m loving it.

  8. SackofLlamas

Needed a Toffoli to really feel like a heavyweight contender but there’s no getting around the cap unless you’re Vegas. It is what it is.

  9. stronklikebear

Got Lindy done early, he’s already looking like a better fit.
If he plays 3C through the playoffs that makes the top 9 very dangerous, especially when Joshua comes back

  10. Arkroma

I think given the 3 year window we probably should have pushed harder for more scoring but I also understand not paying too much or taking on cap.

  11. mephnick

The fact the Kings did nothing and the Oilers overpaid for leftovers is my takeaway from this deadline.

Hopefully Vegas plays better and them and the Oilers can screw each other in the first round.

After seeing what the prices were, I’m a little disappointed we didn’t add some more depth pieces. Colin Miller would have been a nice add for some RHD depth, and Roslovic or Zucker would have been some cheap middle-six options.

« But the team didn’t have the cap space! » Well maybe they should have used it a little better, such as having Calgary retain on Lindholm, for starters.

Ultimately, the one that stings the most is Kessel. They sounded interested in him and were drumming up all this noise, just to ghost us when it finally hit crunch time.

  13. salamiolivesonions

im fine with the additions being done earlier in the season. (my only knock would be that guys seem to have gone for less, so i wonder if we coulda got lindholm for less)

however, if we paid arguably the second highest price for a player this season, and we keep on this 8-6-2 pace since acquiring him (5-6-2 prior to this three game streak) then it will be a massive L, an honestly maybe a worse trade than anything benning did.. yeah i said it.

  14. starcross24

As I said, *the real trade deadline were all the trades we made along the way* 🙂

  15. DisplacedNovaScotian

I’m good with that. It’s not like we haven’t been active. So the idea isn’t that we’re hesitant to make moves. Sometimes, the right move just isn’t there. Patience is a virtue.

  16. Slightly disappointed, but I’m also ok with standing pat.

  17. carry-on_replacement

I’m just happy we didn’t waste the ‘25 first, Podz or Hog, or our top prospects

  18. fuzzb0y

My only criticism was that Lindholm was a slight overpay. Given what we’ve seen this TDL, I think it could be done with a lower tier prospect than Hunter Brucethereitiswic.

  19. WerewolfDesigner5748

They STILL need a top 6 winger though, and a top 4 d-man… but I’m personally glad he didn’t bring Guentzel in, but I wish he’d gone out and gotten Tyler Toffoli back.

  20. Twatts71

I was really hoping for a top six forward but I trust managements process more than my own. Anyways hear me out. Am I crazy for thinking Ilya Mikheyev can be sort of a deadline acquisition. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen the past week, and if he scores on even a quarter of his million grade A chances it’s almost like getting a capable scorer out of nowhere. Guys shown before that he’s got the skill and I feel like once (or if) he gets that monkey off his back pucks will start going in regularly

  21. Chromes_9

The Canucks are going to have to go on the ultimate Cinderella run! It’s crazy to see the best team in the West potentially outgunned so heavily by those that loaded up. Hopefully it unites the group and they play like they have something to prove.

  22. _HoochieMama

If you told this sub a week ago that they wouldn’t even make one little move everyone would have been livid.

There’s no need to pretend everything is a win. They lost today.

  23. CJK_420

Still have Podz Hogz Lekkerimaki Willander D Petey. All good things. Need those guys for the bigger oel buyout penalty years.

  24. Curtis__E__Flush

We didn’t mortgage the future today.

Our guys are returning from injuries in the next few weeks.

    I’m ok with today.

  26. Brown_Recidivist

I still wanted Philadelphia Kessel lol

  27. I’m just upset I won’t be getting my Kessel jersey

  28. awayfromcanuck

Deadline was boring but we’ve been very active all season, at one point weren’t there like 7 trades during the NHL season and we were part of 6 of them?

Sucks we didn’t have the cap to take advantage of some of the lower prices for certain guys but I’m glad we didn’t pay Hog/Lekk for Guentzel.

  29. Apprehensive-Tea4881

No one to save them, but themselves! If they can play consistently like they did last night, I’m happy!

  30. Retryon

yeah like i obviously would have loved to get another piece but that’s just me being greedy and wanting to be involved in deadline day. so far, love all the other moves he’s made and clearly it’s working, and we still have all our top prospects along with Hog who’s taken a nice step forward this year and is still only 23 with lots of room to grow

  31. zippyzoodles

All decent moves they’ve done and happy on the team this year but not sold on Lindholm. Hope he picks things up.

  32. notarealredditor69

So often you regret the trade deadline deals, market gets crazy. Much better to go after the pieces you want early like Aalvin did. Feels like if he really wanted any of these guys he would have got them weeks ago.

Just takes some solace in the FACT that a lot of these teams had to make moves in order to catch us. When was the last time you could say that?

  33. MooseMalloy

I think they should have picked up Brendan Lemieux for free, but that’s just me.

  34. tearfear

Lindholm would have been probably the #1 piece of trade bait anyway.

  35. TheSimonToUrGarfunkl

Yes they made a lot of W trades…but…but..they didn’t do it on an arbitrary deadline so I’m mad 😡

  36. Hoser-theHoserian

They got out of the deadline without moving Hoglander or Podkolzin off the roster, that’s an absolute win to me.

4 very good hockey teams are going to get bounced in the first round in the western conference. I have all the belief in the world in this Canucks squad, but just look at who they are matched up against if the playoffs start right now: One of the most stacked 8th seeds we’ve ever seen. A first round matchup against the defending Stanley Cup champs might be Vancouver’s reward for a great season.

Would it be disappointing to see them get knocked out in the first round? Of course. But the arms race out west and in the league overall tells me that Allvin made the right decision not going all the way in. Next year there will be a lot of UFA decisions to make, but now with Petey signed I really think the best move for this team is to see what this group can do in the playoffs then make adjustments in the summer.

  37. I think of Lindholm as the trade that kicked off the trade deadline.

  38. Leather_Mine_160

Remember, we had no expectations at the start of the season. They’re doing a great job of making us competitive. We can hope for the best, a deep run would be nice, but we kept our assets, let’s hope they bloom and the future looks bright. Be positive folks.

  39. jackfrench9

Hope we stay second too. I don’t want no presidents trophy! Don’t you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!
