On Schenn’s horrible play of late; let’s remember that he was equally bad the first half of the season. If it wasn’t for that stretch of games around January, he’d have been bad all year. When he signed that long contract it was expected that he’d be fairly mediocre the last 2 or 3 years of it. But, as the Blues luck of late has gone, the deterioration has occurred much earlier.
Considering their age Schenn, Krug, and Hayes are going to be drags on this team for years to come. At a minimum, Schenn needs to be moved to the wing (even 4th line, if his play continues at the current horrible level) and Krug needs to be moved to the 3rd pairing. The sooner the Blues management, ignores the fact that they are both now grossly overpaid, and moves them down the dept chart the better. (BTW, I hope all 3 of those players prove me wrong in the future. I’d love to ear crow about this post.)
