Anyone can be dangerous in the NHL playoffs. $0.02. Avs need to play their game.

  2. tugnutter1

All five of those teams are much better than Seattle was last season, but so are we.

  3. Dead-People-Tea

This year the West is pretty strong at the top, but I don’t see a clear cut contender to worry about more than the rest.

That said, the joke has been Colorado beats Dallas beats Winnepeg beats Colorado. So I suppose I’ll say Winnepeg

  4. MurrayPloppins

VGK once they add in their LTIR cap circumvention guys will be spooky. But Winny has Nino so them.

  5. Vivid_Walk_1405

VGK are the scariest easily when healthy. You can clearly see the holes in every teams lineup(Including ours)except the Vegas

  6. Greenforaday

Vegas is gonna be tough once all their injured players miraculously get healthy five seconds after the regular season ends.

  7. I’m most worried about the Jets honestly. They’ve quietly been very good and pretty consistent all year long. Hellebuck is arguably the best tender in the league, and they do a good job suppressing scoring chances in front of him too. They’re just not a team I’m comfortable with playing these 1-2 and 2-3 type games against – if they can force the Avs into low-event hockey I think they’ll have a hard time getting past them.

I’m worried about injuries. That mfer is undefeated

Honestly don’t see a clear favorite for taking the west this year. Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, Dallas, hell even Nashville are all extremely dangerous. We’ve played well against Dallas and Vancouver this year, but they’re both stacked. And of course Vegas will continue to just do their cap nonsense, they’re a battle-tested playoff team obviously.

Personally I’d say Winnipeg seems most dangerous, they’re extremely well-rounded and if Hellebyuck continues to perform at the level he has this season they could be extremely difficult. But the Canucks absolutely dismantled them last night so who knows.

Only team I’d feel “confident” going into a series against is LA, but it’s extremely unlikely that would be our first round.

Playoffs gonna be a bloodbath this year

Anyone who has bothered to watch Edmonton rise from the ashes after starting the season counted out should be very afraid. They are on a mission. Only one team can stop them….let’s go boys

  11. Mike-Hawk-69-0420

Maybe McDavid and the Oilers? But we’ve already dispatched with them in the playoffs… so maybe no one?

  12. Odd_Philosopher1712

    The nashville fucking predators, apparently

  13. mastergriggy

Ourselves tbh. If we can stop tripping over our own feet and making horrible mistakes, we can win it all.

  14. tonyskyline1

Canucks have the most complete offense of all these groups plus great goaltending. Anyone can get hot at the right moment though, hopefully it’s us

  15. shwysdrf

Same answer as I’d have given you in October. Vegas, Dallas, Edmonton.

  16. HoodPhones

In my opinion the top 3 teams in the west, post trade deadline, are COL WPG VGK in some order

The playoffs this year are going to be so damn intense. It’s not like 2022 where the Avs were the clear cut big dick, or last year where Vegass was King Ding a Ling. This year 6 teams coming out of the west can all win it. NSH and especially LAK, can be dark horses but I don’t give either too much a shot. What’s even wilder is, that Vegass may very well be a WC team, where they’ll play either VAN or DAL which bodes well for the rest of the West no matter who wins cuz it will be physical and probably push 7 games.

No matter what it looks like we be getting WINNY for the first round. It’s imperative the Avs get home ice in the first round. I truly believe whoever has home ice for that series will win it. Avs can either get bounced in round 1, or win it all. This year is truly wild as fuck

  18. Hidden_Sturgeon

Based on this line-up where would you put Landy?

On the 3rd? Move Trenin down and sit Duhaime?

  19. frostbritt

When is the last time the entire west was this scary???

  20. mattvn66

The West is stacked, but I’m not overly worried about any team. I’m not saying we’re guaranteed to win. I think every series will be tough, but we can definitely beat every team 4 times. The team that I’m most worried about is Florida, as they’ve crushed us this year.

  21. allkindsofgainzzz

Does anyone know how long LOC is out for? He needs to stay on that 3rd line with Colton and Wood. That line has been money all year

Edit: Just saw the update about his surgery. That sucks

  22. BallisticBrandon23

In the west, sadly its Vegas. In the East, its the Panthers.

  23. hockeyandhalloween

Game 7 doesn’t matter who. Just win them all in 6 or less

  24. rricenator

    Games on the road.

Have to get THAT monkey off their backs

  25. fatch0deBoi34

Honestly i can see every one of these teams winning the cup. The west is insanely stacked this year and literally every team upgraded during the deadline.

It’ll come down to chemistry, goaltending, and experience.

I think this is quite literally the most even and most difficult western conference playoff gauntlet we’ve seen in probably 10 years. There’s not an easy way out of this across the board. Most healthy and best team will win

  26. Adventurous_Area_735

Us peeps in eastern time zone are going to have some late nights watching playoffs this year.

  27. iWARxMACHINEi

If regular season equals playoff success, then 100% Winnipeg. We haven’t beaten them once this season.

  28. the_girlses

I’m so worried about the Stars. Tanev is so good and just melts in w the team

  29. Sad_Aside_4283

Cogs playing center and trenin on the third? Not sure I get that.

  30. HerrHamil

It’s going to come down to goal tending. Vegas doesn’t scare me at all, they are adding too many pieces with not enough time to mesh. If anyone here is old enough to remember when the Avs got Kariya and Selanne and the team flamed out in round 1, that’s the vibes I’m getting from Vegas. Too many additions. I think Winnipeg and Dallas are tough, maybe Edmonton too, but again it’s all dependent on goaltending for me
