Love the passion here, but the way the Devils season is going, I bet Rempe easily bests MacDermid, the Devils generate no chances on the PP, and the Rangers crush us by three or four goals. To me, defensive toughness and defensive responsibility have to pervade the lineup, not just be concentrated in one bout, and as you've pointed out, the Devils are "charmin soft." Win or lose the fight and/or the game, I want to see the Devils play a disciplined game without the mental breakdowns and lack of courage we've seen in previous matchups. That would be growth.

Ever see clips of Macdermids fights? I can see why he doesn't have that many fights, nobody wants a piece of that. You saw everyone on Florida turn him down.
He has this ability to hold the other guy off with his left, take his shoulder pads off and really let the punches go.

I swore off watching the Devils for the rest of the season..but I am going to watch just for this. Yeah Macdermid might have went after Trouba…but Trouba is out for 3 weeks. Hopefully, we can pull a win out of our hats.

Big Ranger fan and i can tell you the whole fanbase loves this kid he has brought new life to the team and he has 100% brought fighting back which is amazing because we need to keep it in the league

Can't believe how much I'm looking forward to this as well. Should help alleviate some of the pain this season has brought. I was at that last Rangers game and it was indeed awful, never mind it was like the Rock had been invaded by the Huns. But Dermy must have Scottish Highlander in him, he's huge. On the bench, he's always looking ready to charge out of the bullpen. I'm sure he's itching for it, so let's hope it happens. Unrelated: he was noticeably chewing gum skating around during warm-ups before the Canes game. I thought that was hilarious, esp considering RBA. And love the jacket! 😊

Rangers fan who discovered your channel the last time we played the Devils. Have listened to some of your videos in between. While we root for different teams, it's clear that you love hockey above everything else and your insights on the game in general are on point. It's a shame tonight's game doesn't realistically have playoff implications. Matt Rempe has definitely energized the Rangers and he can play hockey, not just fight. He's reminding everyone in the league why quality enforcers have always been a force to be reckoned with in the NHL.
