If Mark Stone was really willing to just sit out months of play to give his team a better chance in the playoffs then the discussion needs to be about why some stars from other teams aren’t willing to sacrifice regular season time for their teams.

I don’t believe Mark is faking an injury, but maybe it’s time for the NHL to step in and allow teams to « rest » players for cap relief ahead of playoffs. Just shutdown the haters and make shaming teams (i.e.: Lightning, Knights) who made the best out of this situation in the past

Yeah, I know that if my season is on the line I really want my captain to be out of the season and not playing. They are so stupid to believe that a professional player would just decide not to play. So yeah, we got all the cool trades and they mean nothing if we miss the playoffs, which without Stone is a possible outcome.

I fail to believe that year after year star players are hurt enough to miss most of or the import part of the regular season only to be cleared for game 1 of the playoffs…
