Quand tu as du mal

Mon souhait est que les jeunes ne restent pas assis, même s’ils ont parfois des difficultés. Je sais qu’ils font des erreurs stupides, mais ils sont bons en général et les chiffres le confirment.

Simon will be very good for a very long time.

I’m a massive Luke fan, and I think after Nemec he’s been our best D player this season – but I think there’s an argument to sit him. If you can see his defensive rating over the season, there’s a clear drop off after the stadium series and it’s getting worse. Might be worth taking him out of the firing line for a game or two to try and get him back to how he’s been the majority of the season.

I’ve got no issues with either of the young players though. There’s been a bit of a discourse in the media that we’ve struggled bringing in two rookies to replace Severson and Graves, but this ignores that Nemec and Luke are our best two D. The real issue is Siegenthaler and Marino falling off a cliff, they’ve both needed to be a lot better, throw in the goalie woes and Dougie’s injury – that’s a massive chunk of why we’re going to miss the playoffs, and it’s absolutely not on Nemec or Luke.

  3. The Athletic had an article yesterday or today talking about the biggest disappointments so far this season. Both Marino and Siegs were on there. Severson and Graves were also on there.

For all the complaining about Luke (rightfully so), Marino has seemingly gotten a pass for being terrible and unbelievably soft this year. What a disappointment after the potential he showed at the beginning of last season.

What in the world happened to Seigenthaler and Marino?

Nemec has looked the part all year.

Luke hasn’t been bad, but he gets ALL high leverage minutes so every mistake is magnified. Seigs/Marino have been incredibly disappointing
