@Canucks de Vancouver

So it’s easier to read:
*had 3-0 lead vs TOR, tied 3-3, still won game
*had 3-1 lead in DET, lost 4-3OT
*had 5-2 lead in MIN, lost 10-7
*had 2-0 lead vs PIT, lost 4-3OT
*had 3-0 lead vs COL, lost 4-3OT
So we shouldn’t score more than two goals without letting the other team get one too
3 goal lead worst lead in hockey
My take – two stupid penalties cost us two goals. It’s that simple.
They have just looked so deflated when the other team is coming back. Last night they looked lucky to not lose in regulation, they couldn’t even muster a SOG in the last half of the third. And then Soucy threw.
They even have had lots of rest and the Avs were on a back to back right? Sadly I feel the second I let myself believe they started slipping lmao
We stop skating through the neutral zone when we have the lead. I can’t count how many times how many times our defense passed the puck up and forward was just standing still and easily got stripped of the puck.
Yet we’re still first in the west and 2nd in the entire league ***👍***. Look on the bright side: it’s not as bad as the embarrassing amount of leads we squandered last year.
I’d rather lose against the good teams now and save all the wins for playoffs.
But the ice sure was tilted in the 3rd, that felt like shit
So it seems to me like the team still has some mental stuff to get over. When they are up and the other team starts clawing back they get defeated in their heads and then follows on the ice.
Similar to how much of the fan base has spent this last part of the season “waiting for the wheels to fall off”.
This is 100% mental and can be overcome
The 12 million dollar man was a no show. Again. Not only did he not perform he directly cost the team a goal and the game. Cha-Ching
It’s the penalties.
Game management dictates the team down a pair eventually gets a power play, sometimes even a 5 on 3, and officiating corruption or not, we can’t find our game again afterwards.
Tocchet needs to utilize time outs more, and find ways to get the team back in sync after these kills, or after we get scored on. Right now whatever we’re doing is not working.
I think it’s the coaching style. We come out flying then even if we have just a 1 goal lead in the third we start playing chip and chase hockey.
I like Tocchet and what he has done but this isn’t sustainable. If we dominate teams in the first and second why let the foot off the gas? Yes you have to play smarter with the lead but I don’t see any major pressure on the forecheck once we have a lead.
Curious what our pp was in thos games combined. Leads slip away, esp to great teams, but for me personally watching our pp since Jan has been like chewing glass. Do NOT feel it’s a tweek or 2 from a fix. Get on this coach…
It was the flat Powerplay that killed them. Enough with these fucking drop passes. Skate the puck in, take a shot on goal. Get a faceoff in the O-Zone. You have Miller and Lindholm who can both win draws!!
22 games. What a random number. Canucks have also hung onto way more leads.
Need to make adjustments, no more 3-0 leads. It’s 1-0 or nothing.
Yes, but we are good enough to get leads.
Terrible team, terrible city
🤣
Yo I hate the number 3, all my homies hate the number 3
The only problem I see is our continued lack of production on the power play. We just aren’t a threat, eith the man advantage.
After going something ridiculous like 29-0 when leading after 2, now its feeing totally unsafe, no lead safe. We need our 11.6M man to show up and earn his salary!
Obviously an area that requires improvement but generally blowing a lead is overblown. Not sure why people expect goals to always come in a familiar pattern.
Call me names and downvote me, but with stats like this, how am I to believe this group can handle the pressure of being down 2 games in a playoff series?
