Well this came out of left field. One year deal? For the remainder of the year? For next year? Abbotsford? Tryout?

How many comments will we see about this guy comparing him to tanev by people who have never seen him play just because he doesnt put up any points lol (prefacing this by also admitting I’ve never seen him play lol)?

His point totals are underwhelming for a 24 year old NCAA free agent but then again Allvin and Rutherford come from a history of turning NCAA players onto nhlers

i’m guessing we’ve just gotten too thin with injuries down in Abby

  5. Free players are cool.

Please, Allvin. Hurry up and announce the other rhd contract.

Hi Canucks fans. Merrimack fan/alum dropping by to give you a quick (& biased) scouting report. Felts first came to Merrimack 3 years ago as a transfer from Bentley, (another college in MA, in Atlantic Hockey, not Hockey East) and didn’t see the lineup much his first few games. He eventually won out a spot and carved a role for himself on (a sneaky good) the bottom pair. He had a solid, under the radar year that year.

His next year, he took a huge step forward and played top minutes for a terrific Merrimack team that was a bounce away from winning Hockey East, and made it to the NCAA tournament. He was named to the Hockey East All Tournament team with Lane Hutson. This year, he was leaned on heavily in the first half, but the team faced a lot of injury trouble, and Felts also missed the final 9 games of the season with an injury.

The main thing I want to say about him is that he’s gotten so much better every year. He’s always been solid physically, but the past 2 years, he broke out at the college level as a guy who can chip in on the rush, get back, and be terrific defensively. We’ll see how that translates to the pros, but he has a fun skillset to watch, with some areas to work on. But very happy for a (now) former Warrior. Sounds like he’s on an ATO this year with Abbotsford and his ELC kicks in next year.

    And yes, he’s right handed.

Apparently his comparable are Quinn and Makar minus the points.

Am I the only one that read the headline most of the way and started losing his shit?

Gm Patrik Allvin announced today that the club had asked to terms with defenseman……. Ah, that doesn’t spell Hronek
