  1. You're going to get mad at me…. don't worry about Kane, why should he risk injury when we're going to make the playoffs… makes sense. We'll be fine.

  2. Dri has a weak defensive zone IQ , wish he would hustle more on the defensive end ..be more keyed into his situational awareness

  3. I hope the oilers can heat up at the right time. we need more speed in the line-up like holloway or broberg. I wonder if Holloway gets a chance to play or broberg or even stetcher to replace ceci.

  4. must be a poor analyst to not see or to specifically not comment on Bouchard skating 5' away from McKinnon & coasting to give him some space to make a play. Go to the highlight & review it. Bouch is great at avoiding contact, and preserving himself/having fear of opponents. This makes it hard for others on the team to put fwd full effort, knowing Coach does not expect checking or effort from some. This has carried over to Drais who also decided that he could get away with coasting and leave it up to Skinner, so he could save putting fwd full effort to intercept the puck – as fans would not give him much credit anyway even it he got to the puck. If u play some competition – you will learn that the difference between winning – is the attitude/desire/mindset…. and soft usually loses – that IS the margin & the issue, & coach just wants to survive vs address it

  5. Kane wants Coach to put him on the 1st line.. and hopes the 3rd line doesn't work too well -. Unfortunately its pretty hard on Henrique – media promoting how coming to OIL puts him w so much greater talent & skill – etc…. & is placed w Kane/Brown or Carrick/Perry…. Kane is savy to want to replace Hyman on that 1st line as stats will be stronger w/o more effort.

  6. Don't think Oilers fans can be too too mad we lost. They outplayed us and were favs to win. We still picked up a point.

  7. Bouchard didn't lose the game for y'all in overtime, Draisaitl did. He didn't play tl the whistle. Watch him let Lehkonen drive to the net and play catch up after coasting and then look up to the gameclock to see that he just got outworked.

  8. Idk kane rang the post and is probaly one of the best forcheckers on the team. Easily. Does suck hes on a cold streak woth svoring though

  9. Don't tell what we could have done or how bad we were!!! Tell us what we can do to fix the problem and make the team better!!!

  10. The oilers lost to the Avalanche last night because Evan Bouchard coasted into the corner with McKinnon and did not play the man or the puck but actually went behind the Avalanche player allowing free passing room to the front of the oilers net. One of the best Defensemen in the league?? I don"t see it!

  11. David staples of EDM journal.

In total, Edmonton had 14 Grade A shots, 18 for the Avs. In the subset of 5-alarm shots, the Oilers had eight, Colorado five. Grade A shots go in about 25 per cent of the time, 33 per cent for 5-alarmers.

Did not have Desharnais did not help in the 3rd.

Kulak poor pitch on the 1st goal. not sure Drais he can do anything or Ceci turnovers for 2-2 goal.

3rd line was a bigger issue 5 on 5. The chances and shots difference was this line.

Maybe try Henrique with McDavid n hyman.

Rnh to add more speed and drive the 3rd line with Kane and brown. And create more. mismatches.

As robert tychnkowski of the edm journal said :

They lost 3-2 in the waning seconds of a gimmicky three-on-three overtime format that will be gone (thankfully) when the real hockey starts, but otherwise it was positive feedback on pretty much all fronts.

  12. Not going to win with Brown. You just mentioned this is a team that will need to grind. He shoots at 1 % worst in league. He has 24 hits all season! He is worst +- on team. Against the Avs he has 0 shots on goal. 0 hits. Why is he getting 3rd line ice time. Knoblauch can play him all he wants and they can go golfing in the second round if they get there.

  13. Review the 2nd goal .drais blew the zone too quickly. Ceci made the right play.

Drais was not on the right side of the puck. Fixable.

    Loweride on the game

If you’re waking up feeling bad about the game today, I would suggest you let it go. Shit happens. The goal went in with a couple of seconds left. There are lessons to learn, and if you want to fret over something, consider this: Oilers unwillingness to take care of the puck, represented by back passes, passes across the middle, passes with low percentage of completion, and not getting the puck out when that’s the only job, mean this team is going to have to outscore the other team and their own mistakes.

It’s there for them, the championship, but attention to detail and making the safe, dull play may not be in them. These Oilers won’t win Stanley unless they tighten up. Every one of them. Every player on the roster. That’s a fact.
