  1. They need to give Horvat the C. You can see he has the passion and desire to win. No offense to Anders, but he doesn't seem to be motivating these guys.

  2. I’m done watching this team, how do you go from one of top defensive teams the last four years to looking like you don’t have anybody on the ice at times with basically the same team

  3. Off topic question. What happens if the Blues or the Wild finish with more points than the 3rd place Kings but with less points than the 2 wild card seeds. Do the Kings still make the playoffs

  4. Gil, it doesn’t matter who is playing in goal. When the rest of the team doesn’t show up besides Bo. I think it was obvious this weekend. I’ve seen enough of aho and Reilly. Put bortuzzo and bolduc back in. Earlier in the season they were better when everyone was hurt. We know skill, speed and YOUTH is the new nhl. But senile Lou is stuck in 1990. Once again we were out classed by another team with more offensive talent than us. I mean we don’t even have a real first line. At least a few relatives aren’t getting season tickets next season. They finally have seen the light. Especially when they resell their tickets for less value and lose money. That’s the only way the property brothers may get rid of the fossil.

  5. I never expected any other results, I saw the way they came out and grabbed my dog and went to the park, I hope they don’t make the playoffs better draft position, I would be happy if they came out and gave us some effort it’s not happening, Nice juicy contract these guys are paid, and some of the players probably live in mansions in Garden City 15 minutes to practice 15 minutes to the UBS, you can see it all shows, obviously the owners have no concern, Lamarillo is horrible and the players don’t give a shit, Gil thank you Spot on !!!

  6. Good morning team. Gil, quick question. Right now, are the Islanders the type of team that turns "it" on and off when they need to? I ask this for two reasons. Doesn't matter if they want to or not. In recent history, we've seen this team play like Stanley Cup Champions, and also a team looking to end the season, pack up and go home. Because if you can turn it ON, then why not leave it on and play that way all the time? I know all that is ridiculous and a team really isn't capable of doing that, but while trying to secure a playoff spot, we get this Jekyll and Hyde performance. I watch all the games and truly don't know which team is going to show up. Something needs to happen quickly, or all will be lost. Right now, we're behind the Caps. I'll be on the team's side until the end. I hope the door closes on us, much later vs. sooner. Hurricanes are next. Everyone, have a great day. Looking forward to the show tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  7. I’ve been hoping that Horvat gets the C after Lee is gone, but the shenanigans at the end of the senators game made me think that over. Then he was the only offensive player alive during the rangers game, so f it, give him the C

  8. I’m done watching this garbage team. Until Lou’s gone then I’ll watch. I’ll just continue with Locked on Islanders.

  9. They look like a team that’s just trying to cash their checks without the work. Total embarrassment. I’d be ashamed to be on that team, hell I’m embarrassed wearing my islanders attire!

  10. Good 🌄 Gil, how are you? THIS WAS ONE UGLY WEEKEND FOR THE ISLANDERS. First, they lose to Ottawa at 🏡, then they lose to those dreaded Rangers at The Garden, and THEY LOOKED AWFUL. I know an OT loss you get a point, it just wasn't the same. Apparently, the tounge lashing they got from Patrick Roy didn't work out on Sunday. They've got Carolina tomorrow night, and I think they're in Detroit on Thursday. I said it before, and I'll say it again, if The Islanders want to make the playoffs, THE NEED TO STAY FOCUSED ON THE TASKS AT HAND 🖐. Hero Bo Horvath in a way, 🐐 PLENTY IN BOTH GAMES. The only somewhat decent thing to come out of this weekend was that they weren't shutout again. I never thought I'd say this when it comes to The Rangers, but Patrick Roy was right The Rangers were a better team yesterday. Up until last Friday, THE Islanders HAD A CHANCE TO GET ANOTHER SUNDANCE KID, AND THEY BLEW IT. I'm not taking anything away from Barzal, because he puts me in mind of Trots, when he's on his game, but they need another BUTCH CASSIDY.
HAPPY 🎂, ZEDANO CHARRO. FUTURE HOF. Hear from you tomorrow, Gil. I'm going to 📣 myself up by watching Trots go 5 for 5 against Philly, in1982, and then I'll watch him in my favorite game on THE NIGHT 🤶 EVE, WHEN HE ATE THE RANGERS ALIVE, and just for good measure, I'll watch how they beat down The Rangers at The Garden in Game 3 of The 81 playoffs. Oh, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  11. for the first time I thought Roy was a little panicky…you found magic in Barzal, nelson and horvat and they have two games where they don't produce and you break that line up?…we are still right in this since Detroit is just as much of a dumpster fire as we are…. need to turn this around quickly

  12. The position Lou has put this team in is atrocious. Perfect analogy with cooking. Looks like they LACK ingredients so the plate served is very bland.

  13. hello all..im back from ICELAND…brutal…had fever and was sick for 7 days of the 10…weather was good and we saw the northern lights…we got out just in time..the next day they got buried in snow and its snowing for over 10 days straight…the day after we got back the volcano blew right near where we were…close calls…LOU HAS TO GO…HE SHOULD HAVE MADE MULTIPLE MOVES..HES A VERY BAD GM….WE NEED ANOTHER WINNING STREAK…NONE OF THIS 500 CRAP

  14. Gm. While I am no longer watching the games, the coverage suggests this team is near freefall. Its a dubious accomplishment when the team manages to lose to most of the worst teams in the league. As the team is mostly underachieving/poorly performing and has few tradeable assets, the team may have no choice but to ride out the bad contracts. Given Lou's age, there is an argument to be made the team should do nothing until he goes. As this not a playoff team and the team chose to do nothing at the trade deadline, all decisions should be made with next season in mind.

  15. Hey Gil – I just don't know what to say about this team we have been saying this for awhile but our 4th line has got to retire or be bought out because when we go into a matchup having only 3 useable lines we are going to lose games. Yes Martin scored Saturday but just barely and they no longer even HIT people and set the tone so what are they doing?. We should be calling up Ishakov and Maggio to inject some youth into this lineup. Also now that Mayfield is hurt people finally see how bad in our zone Pelech and Dobson are and as far as I'm concerned I've seen enough of Aho and Reilly because they are not NHL caliber and with no competition for spots EVERYBODY has gotten complacent and lazy. HUGE CHANGES must occur and it starts with sending Lou and his kid Packing after April 17th. If only ownership cared about this team as much as it's fans do !

  16. I was willing to give them a pass on the Kings game, but three straight no show performances against a struggling Sabres team, a last place Senators team, and your arch rivals is beyond unacceptable. Does this team even CARE if they make the playoffs or not? I don't think so. Your theory of too many guys sitting fat and happy on big, long term contracts is probably right on the money. After the Rangers scored to make it 4-2, the Islanders just mailed it in for the rest of the game!!! It's one thing to lose because your team doesn't have the talent, its another thing to lose due to lack of effort. There is a front page article in Newsday today about decline in attendance due to the team's poor play plus the hassle of traffic and parking. And now with the Belmont Garage going away as an option, season ticket sales could very well PLUMMET this off season.

  17. This was about exactly what I was expecting from the game. Bo shows up and sorokin lets in some soft ones while the rest of the team sleepwalks though another one

  18. isles could have taken kuch three times in '11 draft. instead took strome 5, mayfield 34, and j sundstrom c at 50. Even one time isle witherspoon was taken a pick ahead of kuch at 57. that just shows how piss poor isles are at finding/drafting scorers.

  19. The song that comes to mind, slip slidding away 🎵 🎶. Rangers are a damm good team, and we are not. I am, disappointed that we didn't even physically take it to the rangers. Islanders are panzies..

  20. I bet you Horvat is Roy's favorite player ever since he became coach because Horvat has been scoring timely goals ever since Roy came so Roy saw it all so I bet he is glad Horvat is on this team. And as a Canucks fan here in Vancouver I can confidently say Horvat was a wonderful captain when he was here so if he was to be made captain there, I would say the Isles made an excellent decision. Ok as far the the Islanders as a whole….man this team really is missing opportunity after opportunity with these losses because it just so happens the other playoff chasing teams and the current playoff teams who are trying to cling to their spot are all not winning lately, so for the Isles to not take advantage by winning these games are just too damn costly! Not only are winning these late season games important in a points perspective but it also is massively helpful to win these late season games because it makes the team feel much more confident heading into the playoffs. So cmon Isles lets do this because I know the Isles can do this, they are capable of it no doubt! I'm a die hard Canucks fan here but I do really like the Islanders as well I just always have, and ever since Horvat went there it just gives me more reason to cheer for the Islanders, so I really want to see them do good, but they got to win these winnable games against inferior teams! Pick it up Islanders!

  21. Yes, I deleted my comment. Not because it was nasty or anything like that. I deleted it because it was too long. Well said Gil, well said!

  22. Hi Gil! We can always count on your consistency!! This has been a dreadful year. The giveaways are of pee wee quality. I love my coach but Barzie with JG? Kidding me? Aho is dreadful. Bo tried to will this team to victory—-Ty Bo. 15 loser points where they had the lead 80% of the time? Boggles the mind! Bottom line? Sorro has not had a great year!! The lack of speed is killing us. The lack of hungry youth presence is obvious. Softies—-bad enough to have one—-let alone two—-10 and 18!! Pains me to see Matty and clutter struggle to get back!! Pains me to see these giveaways Gil. When I shake my head 25 times a period—-I think of yesteryear!! Energy? Energy? Half this team has aged! And ya ask about energy? IMO? If we scratch Matty, Holmstrom and Clutter down the stretch—and input Bortuzzo—-then bring up Maggio, Dufor and Ishikov we make it. That’s just IMO. Well Louless—it’s crunch time—-live and die with the crap you ice. Gil I’ve said it since day 1—-it’s this team’s last go around—-do what ya can——never surrender—-Never Say For ol times sake.
