1. Dump the puck in the corner, grind it out on the boards, throw it to the point, and look for deflection and screen goals. If that's your only strategy to score, then you're trouble and know why the offense has dried up.😮

  2. The way Pettersson is playing, I have to think he's either fighting something or he's playing hurt. He just doesn't seem like the same player he was earlier in the year.

  3. 03:27 – As I´ve written before, could you please stop saying "E-lee-as" and "E-lie-as". It might not seem that important to you but it sounds totally stupid to a Swede. As if I would say "Brock and Bruck" talking about Brock Boeser and Brock Faber. Or Connor McDavid and Connyr Bedard. Pettersson and Lindholm has the exact same first name. There´s no "E-lie-as" in Swedish. If you care about pronouncing Pettersson´s name correct – and not the North American/English way of "ie" for "i" – you should do the same for Lindholm. Either call both "E-lie-as" (at least that´s the English way) or both "E-lee-as". I know Canucks press communication or whatever has told you it´s "E-lie-as", but I urge Jeff to ask Lindholm in the next interview with him how his name really is pronounced. When Lindholm entered the league as a 19 year old, people started calling him "E-lie-as", due to these people being Americans/English speaking. Lindholm, being young and shy and a polite Swede, just did not correct anyone and now this has been going on for so long so I guess he doesn´t bother to correct people.

  4. Mehh. They're going through some adversity. They've faced plenty this year and they're still #1 in the west. They'll figure it out.
These recent 13 games since the 17th with a record of 6-5-2…
are not at all worse than Nov 11th to Dec 6th with 6-7-0
A season is up and down, always is. Unless you're Boston last season.

The first 41 games of the year: 27-11-3
So far in the last half: 15-7-5 with 14 remaining.

It's fine, there's a wildly talented coaching staff, and after what we had for the last decade, I definitely trust these guys to figure it out. I think we'll have a similar record in the last half. 24-12-5 maybe.
That means 9 wins 5 losses from here on out. I'm comfortable betting on that. (I say, while not being a gambler at all).
Sadly we likely wont beat the point totals of 2011, as that would require winning all 14.

  5. 05:10 – Mr. Paterson: When you say "If you look at his numbers", I assume that you mean over a larger span and not just this season, right? In that case when you say a player is a 50 point guy, a 40 point guy or whatever, you usually refer that to over a full 82 season. Lindholm is a 22 goal, 35 assists, 57 point guy over 82 games in his career. The last 5 seasons before being traded to Vancouver his average was 31 goals, 41 assists and 72 points over 82 games. To say he is a "50 point guy" might be true THIS season, but I wouldn´t say that´s what he IS. Certainly not when you look at what he´s been the recent years. I could be wrong, maybe his regression is permanent but I think he´ll bounce back to at least 60 – 65 points next year, depending on what team he´ll play on and where on that team.

  6. The way the fans and the media hammer EP40 after every game now, how long will it be for someone to figure out his buyout number? Just kidding, but seriously I wouldn't fully judge Elias until after the playoffs are over. THEN start the doomsday music if you must.
