Fucking nuts. This is why I haven’t been to a game in ages, priced right out.

Bag of Tater Tots are only $4, 6 pack Ciders for $13, a spot on my couch is priceless

In BC, isn’t processed food supposed to be taxed at only 5% GST?
MutFox
If you cut ’em in half, that’s 30 fries!
Can’t complain then! /s
dattroll123
12% tax when it’s supposed to be 5%??
seems sus
bendover456
That’s fake lol

I’ve caught a few games at Climate Pledge Arena now and it’s such an upgrade over Rogers Arena. I’d get up from my seats, grab a beer and some chicken karrage and be back before the TV time out was over.
Rogers it’s overcrowded, overpriced, and the food options are so mediocre. Theres a reason why people go to Costco before hand.

Old_Bigsby
That’s 66.6 cents per fry, satan’s number. Obviously something needs to be done about that
Anishinabeg
Prices at Rogers Arena are absolutely insane. $50 for two beers. What the hell?
I thought the concessions in Edmonton were crazy, but Vancouver is twice as expensive.
Robscoe604
i honestly feel like this one comes down to the specific worker who served her the fries, i’ve had fries from there before and i got way more than that, i don’t understand how the worker could put that many fries in knowing the price of it and think oh that’s enough
kneejerk_nuck
Blame Elias. We’re on a budget now. We have to feed him before the fans.

I was at the game in the en suite section. My buddy who has done incredibly well in life financially bought us (group of 4) a round of tequila shots.
During the second intermission, I said I’d grab the next round of shots and he refused saying ,” ask what the price is before you buy”
$50
Not $50 for 4 shots.
$50 per shot.
$50.
So I bought 4 beers and that came to $65.
If the Canucks weren’t having a great season, people would be screaming about this and the Aquilini’s greed.
Save your money and go buy Lions tickets. Sure BC place has crap food and the Lions make $0 from any food and beer sales but at least the ownership isn’t blatantly laughing in your face .
zigzagman27
So to take a family of 4 to a canucks game…factor in tickets, food and maybe parking, you’re looking at over $1000
Captain_JT_Miller
lmao I saw this didn’t realize it was at Rogers Arena. I paid like 15-20 bucks for a smoked meat sandwich and it was basically bologne with mustard and a pickle lmao!
Book-Hockey
Is this as bad as the $29.50 large beers in the club seats?
Lucky-Blacksmith-944
Been to a couple games . Good food is nowhere and the amount you pay for any item is the biggest disappointment in history
TGoyel
tough PR for the Canucks, this thing has gone viral.

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich at Rogers and the bread was completely stale. It was so dry that it crumbled into dust when I tried to bite into it. And the saddest part of all, the cheese was cold (we were in those seats where the staff bring your food orders to you).

Sadly nothing will change. Just like Galen Weston, they know they can get away with it so they continue to push the limits to increase their profit margins.
Sadly, businesses care about their margins and nothing else. No businesses I’ve ever heard of care about what the customer gets versus what the customer pays for.
Just another example of how fucked up and unrealistic living in the 2020’s is.
It’s not a new concept, however. Karl Marx called this shit out 175-ish years ago.
TheFearOfFear
This seems fake. I was there recently and got a big thing of supreme nachos for $11. No way they’re serving this for $7.
Zach983
Why would you as a full grown adult buy fucking food at the arena that’s downtown walking distance from hundreds of better and cheaper food options? Like how fucking stupid are you.
ProtoMan3
Whenever I drive up from Seattle to catch a game, I park at the Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby (it’s free and a safe area) and then take the SkyTrain to the stadium. I’ll eat at the mall most of the time, but if I have money and time I’ll either stop by Surrey for Indian food or eat in Vancouver proper close to the stadium.
Concession prices are bad enough generally, and this is an extra special layer of trash.

Look, I get they all wanna make money and high alcohol and food prices come with the territory but IMO if sporting venues took the Costco approach to food and beverage sales I can guarantee they would end up making more money in the long run.
Mediocre-Situation50
Arenas in Las Vegas and Seattle do it right as they have double the amount of bathrooms and portable alcohol cellar stalls every hundred feet. It seems seems to change everything.
MemoryBeautiful9129
They look fresh tho !

You get a reasonable amount of fries with your burger at Triple O’s and it’s like $13?
Victal87
Guess I’ll be going to the Giants instead

So tight, like playoffs prices!

Had to double check and see if this wasn’t r/hockey because nobody has mentioned Costco hotdogs in this thread yet

Food is indeed overpriced at Rogers Arena but how do we know OP didn’t just eat some of the fries already.
