Definitely not a good value player however is definitely a great teammate. Only problem with him is the salary cap.
The guy blocks a ton of shots but we gotta be honest he doesnt produce that kind of paycheck worth of value in the stats . Hes valuable in the locker room but i think the C should be worn by someone else , do i want rid of him no but he is a drain on our cap.

Listen he isn’t worth the money but the guy has heart , his intangibles I will take all day . Blocks shots , steps up for teammates, clears the net and hits like a Mac truck and does it clean. We have defenders that are offensively producing so im not gonna bitch about his point decline ! Think about this if we didn’t have him on the blue line we’d be vulnerable!LGR!!!

It’s a waste of money. When you look at the bread man VS Jacob you are correct sir. I think he’s in the mediocre defenseman category which shouldn’t get more than 4 million per. Artemi is getting that number and he’s producing. The Rangers need a big defensive presence back there and Jacob is not it.

If Trouba made like 4-5 million he'd be perfect. Unfortunately because of his cap hit he probably won't get resigned unless he takes a discount.
Have you noticed we’ve had less unnecessary penalties without Trouba and definitely without Rempe? Come playoff time I’m telling you if those two get ice time we will lose the close games. Bad enough they keep Kreider (I love this guy) except on the penalty kill where he just skates lackadaisically waiting for a short handed breakaway. Just move him off the kill. But we are really not giving Rempe his full credit. Most of the time a step slow, misses a lot of checks not to mention he’s going to get one of our guys targeted because like the last time he played, game misconduct and the Devils Macdermid couldn’t get to him as he cowardly waved while injuring another player.
It’s only a matter of time before we pay the price for his antics.
Maybe a bit overpaid but his physical game and role as cap he's done just as expected for us and he's worth his 8 mill I never thought of him as a 55 60 points a season he's a solid d man plays his hardest and sacs his body for us

The organization has the that issue of over paying players just to keep them and i also believe he is not worth 8 million plus. I really think they over paid him to keep him. You assess a player and based on his performance will he get given that type of salary and this is how a team ends up with a player they cannot trade due to his salary. NO he is not worth that salary he is not a Kane.
I think the problem is that the Rangers seem to have a tendency to overpay players. Goodrow, Nash, etc. This is a big opportunity for Zac and Chad to show they can get the job done.

My take is different, the biggest problem with Trouba is who he's paired with. He doesn't really mesh well with Miller; in the same way we see that Kakko doesn't seem to be as productive when he's put on a line with Mika and Kreider. Call it chemistry, the formula still kind of works but it's far from being the best available formula out there. That said, I've never thought he was worth the full $8M but the difference could be smaller than many imagine.
I'm very curious to see if he can step it up come playoff time. If he doesn't, then some consideration has to be given to buying him out. We have guys to re-sign, and $8 million would go a long way toward keeping some younger guys.

Adam Fox is bad! Trouba is a bonafide defenseman, while Fox pretends to play defense and places the Rangers at a disadvantage 5v5 and on the PK. Your video should highlight the horrific D-zone attempts by Adam Fox. Troubs deserves every bit of that contract.
Well he isn't GOOD. I hope Drury moves Trouba this off season when his no move clause expires. There is a reason Drury didn't trade Zac Jones. Drury needs the money to pay the NYR future young stars and re-sign Gustafsson for another year as well. They can easily be in great cap shape once they move Trouba and Goodrow. I would suggest trading Trouba to a Western Conference team like Chicago.

Give me Pionk and Heinola over Trouba any day. As a Jets fan it was funny when he got traded Rangers fans acted like the got the next Bobby Orr LOL. The only thing Trouba has that Pionk doesn't is heavy hitting.
