  1. Caps are hot!! Charlie is no doubt at a vezina level rn and the Caps powerplay has 17 goals in 16 games

  2. Honourable mention to Nick Jensen. He's been a turnover machine all season but seems to have turned his game around. The kids have really blossomed and Ovechkin is getting his groove back. If the Caps can control the tempo they are very hard to beat. Might be a nightmare matchup if they make the playoffs.

  3. Minor one I guess but…

With his 20th goal this season Alexander Ovechkin became

    – one of five to score 20+ goals in 19 different seasons
    – one of three to do it in 19 consecutive seasons
    – the first to do it in his first 19 seasons

Oh and with the GWG and the first goal against a new goalie he is one closer to 2 more records he is within 7 of both held by Jaromir Jagr

  4. you hit the nail on the head with the sabres, defense defense defense… along with UPL going GOD MODE since the start of the year, finally our defense is solidified. Jeff skinner deciding to play hockey makes all the difference in this one. Sabres are feeling different with BO being traded here. we looking up. thanks for the review as always.

  5. i lost my wallet so i can only muster up a feeble moo
im cursed with old age and not paying attention .
i also just dropped lapierre and sandin to the wire sunday .
having a booya day so far . glad its over now .
    mooooooo
    gohabsgo

  6. The Sabres are not getting in this year. They don’t have enough games left to make up how bad they were earlier in the year. I wish they did😊

  7. The Sabres only have 13 games left, and if they want a legitimate shot at the playoffs, they probably need to win at the very least 10 out of those 13 games. It’s not impossible, but they don’t have the easiest schedule going forward

  8. Somebody said the Caps needed to win the last three games of their 5 game road trip after getting beaten handily in the first two to stay relevant. So they won the last three games of their road trip and lo and behold they're really relevant. If you hear somebody repeating, "This isn't Shawshank Redemption" over and over again, it's just me over in the corner. I'm just reminding myself to enjoy the ride, the games, and to let the season play out.

  9. Sorry for the double comment: Whenever a young goalie gets scored on by Ovi, their standard response should be: "You know you've made it to the NHL when Ovi scores on you for the first time. Kind of a right of passage, you know."

  10. Shannon that jam play correctly shouldn't have been a goal. Ref had late whistle and Flames kept jamming at it/Lindgren's left pad. The officiating was not so good as I saw multiple infractions by the Flames that were not being called, my Caps were guilty a few times as well. The Flames 1st goal was reviewed absolutely should not have been counted. Lindgren stick in his crease was accidentally interfered with by the Flames player(he was trying to re-pivot and backwards swooped Lindgren's stick with his skate). Ask any goalie, as we would be first hand experts in giving a good explanation, that when an opposing player makes contact with a goalies stick while the goalie is in their stance, it will most certainly effect their attempted movement to make a save as we use our goalie stick for balance.

  11. As a Seattle fan, tonight's game was an embarrassment & tells me that changes need to be made in the off season. Any players that are on expiring contracts need to be let go regardless of what they have done for the team because if we don't, we will be as bad as San Jose & Chicago are & fan interest will plummet especially if the Sonics are announced as returning to the NBA this summer as is widely speculated. Heck players like McCann & Beniers should be offered as trade pieces if what we are getting in exchange is good. If tonight's game is any indication, it is also time to start playing the prospects (especially Firkus) & see what they can do at the NHL level especially since we are out of the playoff race. However if Hakstol is unwilling to do so, then he should be fired at the end of the season because it is clear to me that he isn't the ideal coach for this organization going forward. Both Lindy Ruff & Bruce Boudreau are out there as replacements & I wouldn't mind us signing one of them as our next coach because they have proven that they can turn teams around.

  12. Kraken are so chalked. giving up that last vgk game in the fashion they did (up 4-2 with 5 min left, game tier with 15 sec left, lost in OT) while also knowing that wouldve put them right in the wild card mix just totally deflated them. Last 3 games since have been miserable performances.

  13. The more I see from Seattle, the more I think Colorado beat themselves in that series last postseason.

  14. ovi is 38 and missed two full seasons to lockouts and covid, started age 19-20 against better goalies and defensive systems

  15. If in the end the sabres are out of the playoffs by 1 point, i will go officially berserk 😅

  16. If only Buffalo could ever play with consistency night in night out..unfortunately this west coast trip will most likely eliminate their playoff hopes. At least they beat Seattle for the first time in franchise history 😂 gotta watch the penalties though VAN n EDM will make us pay. Happy to get 2 pts to start out the 3 games in 4 nights!

  17. I'm not a flames fan in particular. I always want a Canadian team to make the playoffs and to bring the Cup back to Canada though. I am not bashing them, I'm being honest and giving an opinion that nobody may agree with. I have maintained since the start of pre season, a simple retool will not turn this historic franchise fortunes around. This team requires a total teardown and rebuild of the player roster. Feel free to let me know if you agree or disagree.

  18. Dunno why you dropped Sabres 1 spot in rankings, while Islanders are in a 2nd row, they shouldn't be that high. Sabres soundly beat them recently, and play better hockey than Islanders for weeks now, that's for sure.

  19. I crave your next hall of fame career player video. The Johnny Bucyk video was so good. How come you haven't reviewed the toughest player to ever lace on a pair of skates? Bobby Baun, in 1964, did something you would never get get from Makar, Hughes, Orr or Coffey. Keep up the great work. This channel is my one stop shop for NHL news and reviews. I respect your opinions, because you base them on your observations.

  20. Jeff Skinner just casually matched Peyton Krebs season total in goals last night.

it's amazing to me how bad hockey prospect evaluation is. how was Krebs ever considered an elite offensive prospect? guy's a tweener.

  21. Mad respect for using the Hershey jersey when speaking about the caps resurgence, their surge is being pushed by Hershey players who replaced veterans that where traded at the deadline for picks.
Two weeks ago they were sellers at the deadline, now they are a legitimate threat to move further up the standings and they are looking like the "dark horse" of the playoffs. Getting Florida vibes from last year with this current caps squad.

  22. Oh my gosh, I HATE the capitals. Them, the penguins and blues are my least favorite teams. Somebody beat them. And get it together Detroit!!!

  23. The no goal definitely should not have counted. Kadri literally pushed the net up into the goalie. The puck was trapped until he did that.

  24. Hello Puckheads!
Oh me oh my ! Another perfect night (2-0) for me and 9-0 over the last two days …
Overall, 588-424-69 (57.59%) and I am in a tie for 5th – who would have thunk it?

  25. Big bounce back win for Buffalo! They need a similar effort tonight in Vancouver, but it won't be easy as Vancouver should be an ornery bunch. And Buffalo's playoff hopes are still there because of who they have to still play down the stretch. Buffalo still plays Detroit again, Philly again, and two home games against the Caps. So Buffalo can certainly help themselves by winning those games.

  26. I said at the start of the season that the caps would be better than people expected but ngl not even I expected to see them in the wildcard spot this late. I was expecting we’d draft like 12th overall 😭

  27. Sabres are teasing us with a playoff appearance. While I think they’ll eventually make the playoffs, the chances of this year have to be less than 5%.

  28. Shannon…Dave Hakstol has lost the room for the Kraken!, it’s that or the Davy Jones hat got dropped and needs a seance to cleanse the bad luck out of the hat! It is so disappointing!
