Nothing wrong with the playoffs format. It's not wrong because the Leafs (the only team) know where they will finish. They don't even know who they will play.

Florida and Bruins earned the right to play the weak (bottom 50% playoff ) Leaf team. For Bruins fans (if the Leafs ever get ahead) – we just expect another Leaf elimination game 7 – third period Leaf Core 4 collapse to the Bruins again.

Having two $11Million smallish skilled wingers does not help the Leafs come playoffs. Matthews does defend well enough and isn’t skilled enough to set up goals via passing (Auston has 2 to 3 times less assist compared to top NHL players). JT now belongs on the 3rd line. The Leafs are at 22 wins – 3 losses – 2 OT losses without Morgan. So why hasn’t Morgan been trade.

Leafs can't win a cup with "character" guys like Marner, but have to admit his skills are elite, and important to team "regular season" success. Marner always goes invisible in the playoffs anyway, so if he's out, oh well..
