  1. Not a chance they will touch on it but the cloud hanging over the nhl players from the 2018 Canadian juniors and subsequent legal matters would be worth addressing. Not everything has to be warm and fuzzy.

  2. I think someone from Philly would be good, I hate the team but this surprise season is interesting, Tage Thompson surprising breakout and or Claude Giroux and the whole Sens Dorian debacle would also be interesting

  3. Marchy easy he is one of the most fascinating people. He is an amazing player with a great personality who gets a bad rap on ice. Off ice he is the nicest guy you ever will meet.

  4. I’d want to see Nylander, after all he’s the “it” guy in all of sports, he almost pulled Madison Beers on zoom

  5. Since you're doing pairs, how about Sid and Nate? If love to know more about their relationship and their training together.

  6. If Tyler and Max are Corey and Trevor… does that make Auston, Willy and Mitch – Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles? I need to know who Steve thinks is who

  7. Bedard, Crosby, McDavid, and McKinnon may be the least polarizing personalities in the league. Just think of a day in the life of John Tavares putting together IKEA furniture

  8. I'd love to see a series focused on brothers playing in the show, the Hughes, Tkachuks, Nylanders, I know I'm probably missing a few but that'd definitely be a cool concept

  9. McDavid or Draisaitl
    Bedard
    NJ Hughes brothers
Joe Pavelski(Wyatt Johnson and Logan Stankoven live with him)
    Max Domi
    Swayman
    Ovechkin
    Lawson Crouse(Arizona)
    Seth Jarvis

Edit: Stamkos and Caufield are great ones.

Are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that would be great

  10. A player I think would be a great add, even if it tears at your heart a bit, is Zach Hyman. Is a solid top line winger, is an award-winning, best-selling author and just continues to put up fantastic numbers. Thanks for letting him walk out the door, Dubas.

  11. Nick Foligno on Trade day, if they could pull that magic off for a mid level star being traded around the deadline.
Zach Hyman mic'd up during a game hearing the abuse he probably takes in front of the net.
    The Hughes Brothers in Jersey
Trade Deadline in Vegas <- Leroy in real time anyone?

  12. I want to see Kopitar, I don’t know much about him but he’s probably the most famous athlete from Slovenia (I have a Slovene friend and even though she didn’t know him personally she knew of him coming back and doing hockey camps for the kids)

  13. Great stuff, Steve! Out of the box, interesting and so many great takes if your wish list comes true (it won't, but nice to dream). Of course, of the names you mentioned, I expect three or four out of your choices (Bedard, Makar, Jack and / or Quinn Hughes) may actually make the cut! Matthew Tkachuk perhaps too. Hellebuyck would be great, but we know Gary is not a fan of Canadian teams or players.

But of course this is the list I'd expect:. Bedard, McDavid, Dreisaitl, Kucherov, Quinn and Jack Hughes, MacKinnon, Makar, Matthews, Pastrnak, Demko, Matthew Tkachuk. Mostly US players of course, because, well, Gary Bettman. Maybe sub out Kucherov for a non-Russian. Either way, it is good that the NHL will take the time to promote its star players. Long overdue!

If I had my own list, it might be quite different, perhaps with a nod to who might be the stars of the 4 nations tournament in 2025 and the Olympics in 2026.

Anyway, good stuff! Love LFR, SDPN, the CJ Show and everything else you do.

  14. Nazem Kadri would be a great one. He’s fasting for Ramadan right now and pushing for a playoff spot. I’d love to see that

  15. Dougie Hamilton to take us through Greco-Roman architecture and medieval furniture design

  16. I would normally agree about Cale. However, assuming that filming for a fall release is happening now- I would love to follow MacK's monster season

  17. 4:39 I have a counter to that. Tavares and Eberle. The captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, former New York Islanders, plays on a original six team vs The fan choice of captain for the Seattle Kraken, former New York Islanders, plays on the newest team in the league. Both teams made history last year in the playoffs. One got the first round win for the leafs, the other became the first team to beat the previous Stanley cup Champs in the franchise first playoff series.
Show us what the different pressure looks like for those two.

  18. One of the players should be a Conn Smythe winner. I hope its a mix of rookies, veterans, winners, trash talkers and future hall of famers.

  19. My first thoughts here were TJ Oshie and Tom Wilson. Big time locker room guys for the caps and are always goofing around.

  20. Agreed with your list, why follow the super stars, the press give us enough of them. Follow the interesting personalities.

  21. Someone who gets traded would be interesting to follow around, because I don't think fans entirely understand how disruptive getting traded is to a player's life.

  22. I definitely have a huge bias here as a Habs fan, but I would love to see Cole Caufield featured. Attracts a big market with being in Montreal, but he also just seems like a very fun and exciting person to be around. Since he's also American it would help to market to US markets as well. If we're looking at a duo then Caufield + Suzuki or Caufield + Slafkovsky would be really fun to watch in my opinion.
They could maybe play the angle of a historically powerhouse team going through a tough rebuild process and the expectations and challenges that come with that.

  23. I would love to see Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies as a pair. I think the framing of "look at the two best players to come from Arizona" would be really interesting

  24. Just think about the things that Torts would say before going in front of the reporters or after the interviews. LOL
