I’ll admit it, I was a pessimist when we traded for Jake Allen.
Jake, I owe you a personal apology. You got some fucking moves and deserve to be here. Not sure what’s in store for you next season, but thanks for being here and showing up to play when we were all down and out.
The way I sprung up on the couch when I saw Allen fire the puck with the net empty 🙀.
Hard to read too much into this game because its Pitt and all the Devils do is pound them lately, but man just give me wins to be happy about down the stretch so if it’s really over come April 15th I’ll have had some fun watching them play out the rest of the season.

These jerseys are so much better than the black scripty ones. The two tone is something people (myself included) have been asking for, and they delivered.
I LOVE WHEN WE PLAY THE PENS:
* no matter how bad our team is or our season is we always do so well against them!
* the Devils are 8-6-0 when I go to games this season
* can we put the Stadium Series jerseys into our normal jersey rotation please?
* great first period! We survived the second period and an almost perfect third period.
* that was the closest we’ve played to a 2022-2023 game all season in terms of game structure/arc
* what a fun win!
* we scored first, two PP goals, amazing goaltending, strong PK
* we didn’t play remarkably better than we usually do but we just got really solid goaltending and some really solid goal support plus it’s the Pens so like it wasn’t like they made us pay first every mistake we made

Some MUCH needed fun. That fucking standings graphic they put up at the end was a buzzkill, I genuinely wanna be present for the remaining games and just enjoy it when they’re successfully doing their thing.
If Allen absolutely crushing it is such a boost for me, then it must be doing something for the guys on the ice. I think the fact that he’s new blood, experienced, and putting on these performances makes him a net positive (har har) for this team where they’re at right now and moving forward.
Do I think him playing at this clip is sustainable? No, and I think we saw a similar thing with Daws playing out of his mind before getting run into the ground. But it feels good and is nice to see one of this team’s issues moving in the right direction.

How are we feeling about Allen then? Two weeks ago he was a 1B next year at best. He’s certainly played his ass off for us so far.

I love how Bryce and Dano are still saying how great it is that Green put Holtz back in after the error. Subtext that Lindy wouldn’t have done it. A few things throughout the game they said fell under this and hard agree.
