Good game, but unless they can get their mojo from the months of Jan/Feb back, it would be lucky for them to make the playoffs. Once they blew their lead on the teams who were way behind them, they pretty much hung their chances for a showdown to the wire. They need to get their mojo back to get to the playoffs or it's over, I think. Regardless, they'll need to keep Kane and obviously sign Raymond to a big contract. Not a Mo Seider fan so I won't go there on whether they should give him a big salary. Seider is too overrated. Unless I see him perform like Nick Lidstrom or Cale Mikar of the Aves, I'd rather pay more attention to our top draft picks like Edvinnson, Pelikka, and Danielson (all 3 are defensemen, i believe). Seider appears too predictable with his play on the ice. He almost seems unsure of himself at times. Maybe with maturity, he'll improve. We'll see. I'd like to see more of Edvinnson than Seider on the ice, just to see if Edvinnson is ready to take on a bigger role with the Wings. Anyhow, other than for Kane, Debrincat, and Raymond, the rest of the vet acquisitions should be either let go, placed on waivers, or depending on their production (+/-) extended on a year to year basis, or they shouldn't let the door hit them on the way out of Detroit. These veterans were brought here by Stevie Y to complement a growing team, and if they aren't able to hold a wildcard lead with more than initially 10 points before being caught up by the Caps or the Isles, those veterans really don't deserve to have even a contract extention. I believe some of them aren't doing what it takes to win, and their bad style of play is affecting our producers like Kane and Debrincat. Stevie Y needs to have players to complement Kane, Debrincat, and Raymond. The other veterans with multi-million $ contracts made it look obvious that they were doing so well until the trade deadline, and then they plateaued with their performance. Anyhow, if the playoffs are in for this year, Lalonde should begin packing, but let's see what happens through the weekend. LGRW!!!

But all I got to say is that this losing streak that we're on and all the bad luck we're having all started happening after we put that stupid patch on the Jersey…. and I think Larkin went down around this time too correct me if I'm wrong though. I was at this game!! I was foam puck hat guy on the jumbotron from the first period lol. Everybody was on their way out as the LCA crew were passing out t-shirts during the final commercial break, and half the crowd had their backs turned when the wings tied the game! It was a slow start once again, unfortunately, but they turned it up in the second and the third. I also feel like they overcame some interesting referee decisions throughout, but Raymond leads this team through adversity and Showtime puts on a classic snipe for the W!!! LGRW!!

You CANNOT possibly be blaming Reimer for letting goals in on two of those THREE breakaways they gave up in a ten minute span. Hung out to dry by the D time and time again. He made numerous other saves to keep Detroit in a game that they had no business winning. Reimer deserves as much credit for that win as Raymond and Kane.

Team freaking defense and a tight forecheck will fix a lot of these issues. These guys have been yelled at to move their feet since pee wee days. They did none of that in the first and put themselves in a hole, again. So stupid. They have many flaws but so do other teams who just plain out hustle them at times. I would not want to be a goalie on this team right now.
Larkin's absence exposes some depth problems up the middle for sure. It's not a coincidence that the worst losing streaks have happened when he has been out of the line up.
I sure love Kaner but hot damn Raymond is developing into a unit. We need to clean this up NOW. I really want Kane to stay. I would accept not making playoffs if he stayed here.
I didn't watch the game but it seems like they continue to play down to the oppositions level (and sometimes up). Somewhat looks like a collective lack in confidence

We looked pretty good for the final 30-40 minutes, but I really hate that we came 13 seconds away from losing to the Blue Jackets. In a do-or-die game, the boys damn near chose to roll over.
I love my team, whether we make it or miss it… but I'd much rather make the playoffs. The boys need to understand that the dynamic has changed from two weeks ago to now. We no longer control our destiny, not entirely. We have to scoreboard watch and hope the teams around us suffer losses as well. It's a terrible feeling. Here's hoping we've turned a corner like we did in January. Fingers firmly crossed.

Interesting that when they ground out the win against the sharks, the reason it mattered was because it was the same bad sharks team that sent us on the losing skid in the first place.
