Funny how he’s doing this for leverage, but in reality he’s lost any leverage because now he just wants to run.

The original plans of « Potomac Yard is THE spot » is now a wash.

Wes Moore is a piece of shit but he’s certainly not stupid enough to give a billionaire $2b

I would be surprised if *hadn’t* talked to Maryland.

From his point of view, National Harbor is barely further than the Potomac Yards. No Metro, but transportation infrastructure has yet to be on his mind.

They are talking about it now on B-Mitch & Finley

The best part is the article even points out that he just wants to use MD for leverage and does not actually want to put an arena here.

Sounds like Wes Moore has a lot of leverage here. I wonder what concessions he would get from Ted.

Gotta give Ted some credit he’s persistent in his dumbassery

My vote is we wish him the best of luck, agree to get out of his way, not drag feet on things like permits, but that he doesn’t get one penny of public funding

Just wait till Ted moves the team to either Houston or Salt Lake City or Atlanta or etc, etc etc.

Then people in the DMV will cry foul about the move.

Like it or not most owners won’t / don’t foot the majority of the bill to build a facility for their professional team & Ted is no exception to the rule.

Lmaoooooo. That’s what you get TEDDY. Got caught w your hand in the cookie jar. I’m from MD. You can’t have my tax dollars. Fuck off and stay at Cap One.

Didn’t Maryland just give a ton of money to the Orioles and Ravens? Why a DC team?

How about West Virginia, you try that yet Teddy Boy? Because that’s about all you have left at this point. Look, you got your three estimates and everyone gave you ridiculous prices because what you are selling isn’t worth it. Build your own barn on your dime or fix the one you have that is already in a great location.

Serious question – what’s in the blocks around the current arena?

He clearly wants space to build and own stuff to funnel him cash outside the team – like some other owners.

Is there space near the arena that can be ED’d if that’s what’s required to get a deal done?

The fact that by know Ted knows most fans, residents and politicians aren’t in favor of any of this, yet he keeps pushing for it, says everything you need to know about him. Nothing he does is for you (the fans), it’s all about him. Rich people are the fucking worst!

Sell the team Ted, we all hate you now, and honestly it’s beginning to adversely affect how I feel about a team I’ve been a fan of since I was 5 years old…

Hopefully the governor gave him a two-word answer, with the second word being either « off » or « yourself. »

Didn’t Bowser say that DC’s $500mil was still on the table?
