    > “It’s tough,” he said. « I feel I’ve been putting the work in for a while, I know I’ve been struggling, trying to work on my game. Definitely frustrated with the way I’ve been treated around, I guess, lately. It is what it is. »

I feel like the Torts cycle of coaching always does this

There’s no justification from Torts for doing this now. 7-8 games ago, yes, right now? Absolutely not.

Watching Atkinson and Deslauriers getting game time over literally anyone else on the roster is criminal. Laughton has never been benched, even during his horrible spell pre-christmas of around 10-15 games.

This is an ego trip and nothing else.

I’m frustrated that he’s a shell of his former self and he’s signed for 6 more years.

Holy shit the overreactions here are nuts.

Coots is playing awful. He’s been demoted and has gotten to the point where he’s scratched. He’s back for the first time in two years and his body is grinding down. It’s a long season.

Scratching the guy for one game doesn’t make Tortorella a monster guys. It’s one game for a player that isn’t playing well. Coots needs rest.

No one wants him on the fourth line, especially Tortorella. But anyone who’s watched him can see he’s lost a step. It happens. He resets, comes back on Thursday and kicks ass we aren’t even talking about this

Torts loves dogs so much, he needs a player in the doghouse. He literally can’t exist without one

I want to see the guy who wouldn’t take the test

« Hey Coots, we need more offense from you. »

« So you’re not gonna make me play with Nic Deslauriers anymore, right »

    « … »

    « Right? »

And this is why that asshole Tortorella bounces around like pink eye.

He’s proven to be one of the worst captains in my memory lol

Some of you need to realize that it can be helpful for a player to sit out, intentionally, once in a while. Especially if they’re struggling.

This is on Torts. He’s said all season that he has mismanaged Coots’s minutes, and it’s coming back to bite him on the arse. He hasn’t played a full season in two years. He recognized that it was an issue back around January and did nothing to correct it. Of course it’s Coots’s fault. I guess we’re getting a taste of the Torts that earned him his reputation.

The problem is the trade gutted the team and now we aren’t going to make the playoffs. After being in a playoff spot for months it’s gonna be brutal and we are panicking still trying to make it.  A 30th overall isn’t worth the disaster this is causing

The guy hasn’t played meaningful hockey in two years and Tortorella starts him out by playing him twenty fucking minutes a night until he hit a wall. His ice time was poorly managed. He should have been playing 15 to 17 minutes a night to start the year and then gradually increase his ice time. He might be physically in shape, but he certainly wasn’t in game shape. This is 100% on Tortorella.

Here’s a question. You have a pitcher that is coming off of Tommy John surgery. You get the clearance that they’re good to go. Are you letting said pitcher go out and throw a complete game or do you put them on a pitch count? Exactly. Couturier should have had his minutes monitored to begin the year and then as he started to get more and more acclimated to the game, then they should have increased his ice time.

I’m mad about this. Couturier should have been handled more cautiously and he wasn’t. They threw him into the fire and now that he’s hit a wall, Tortorella has thrown him under a bus. It’s garbage.

Welp that sure backfired on Torts. Oh wait….we played better and won.

  16. Only-Nature7410
