  1. I just don't see him coming back either, 8.5M for Hellebuyck next year doesn't leave much room in the budget for a backup of Brossoit's caliber. There are likely ten or more teams in the NHL that would improve their goaltending dramatically by signing Brossoit, the Devils look like a good fit alongside Allen if Kahkonen doesn't work out down the stretch.

  2. The real key to our success is our goaltending coach Wade Flaherty who's been developing our Goaltenders since day one. Coach Flaherty deserves credit.

  3. The Jets play really well in front of Brossoit both times he has been in Winnipeg. I think at times the Jets ease up in front of Helly. I hope the Jets take advantage of LB more down the stretch. GO JETS GO!!!!

  4. I think the Jets DO find a way to keep LB after this season! But if they can't, brining back Michael Hutchinson- who has said that Winnipeg is his #1 preferred destination every offseason AND he even makes his home in Winnipeg in the offseason every year as well, and since Hutchinson used to be the best backup goaltender that the Jets ever had and only lost that title once LB came around, if keeping LB is not possible, then we may as well bring back the second best backup goaltender the Jets ever had to replace the best backup goaltender the Jets have ever had. But I think the Jets can and will try to keep LB in a 1A/1B situation, as that is what was implied going into this season, was that LB would get more starts than he did in the past, so you could have Hellebuyck with 50 or so starts and LB gets the remaining starts. One of my biggest pet peeves has been the Jets have only ever signed LB to 1-year deals/extensions, whereas Vegas signed him to a 2-year deal, so in my mind signing LB to a good 4-6 year extension to provide a stable 1A/1B with Hellebuyck as the best goaltending duo in the league, while also finding a way to keep Sean Monahan, Tyler Toffoli, and Collin Miller, as well as extend Vlad Namestnikov further! That is a Stanley Cup calibre lineup, so that's why it's so important to do everything the Jets can to keep all those guys, as they likely wouldn't be as good without LB, Monahan, Toffoli, and Miller! But again, if we absolutely cannot keep LB, then bringing back Hutchinson would be the next best thing, and since he wants to come back, along with not only having Winnipeg as his #1 most-preferred place every offseason, but also making his home in Winnipeg in the offseason (as his wife owns a cake store in Winnipeg) the Jets may as well take advantage of that if need be! If anyone's curious as to where I got my info about Hutchinson, read this article! https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/2023/12/22/hutchinsons-continuing-hockey-odyssey

  5. No one underrates or underappreciates the Jets. Almost every analysis from outside of Winnipeg credits the goaltending for their success.

  6. The Jets need a soild back up to take up starts from Hellaybuck. If jets expect that 8 year contract to have any Longevity. If they give Hellaybuck 65+ games a season, he lasts another 4 years.

  7. The pro sports training facility in Arizona did more for Connor Hellubuyk than anything except for Wade Flaherty.

  8. The only way LB stays, I think, is if Helly chooses to cut down on his workload. Instead of starting near 60 games, he starts around 50, leaving the other 30+ for LB. And Helly is 30, and not getting younger, to having decreased workload will help him. And then it comes down to how much does LB want to be a starter, as opposed to being part of a good goalie tandem with Helly on a good team?
