This was definitely better than the giant digital nameplates with arrows that other networks use though.
It’s dumb, just like the digi ad boards, I love hockey but I’m starting to hate watching it.
It’s a ridiculous gimmick. We know where the players are; we can see them on our ever expanding television screens. If anything, it distracts from the actual play of the game.
I am a curmudgeon, mind you. (Insert Abe Simpson-esque « When I was young, Ballard was too cheap to put names on the jerseys, so we had to memorize the numbers! Uphill both ways!)
