They should genuinely do this every power play for each team’s leading PP goal scorer. It’s cool

  2. OneNutPhil

I don’t mind this cause it seemed like it was only for the powerplay and was highlighting Matthews because he’s chasing the hat trick

  3. StaticR0ute

They should make it a star, in the style of NHL’94 lol

This was definitely better than the giant digital nameplates with arrows that other networks use though.

It’s dumb, just like the digi ad boards, I love hockey but I’m starting to hate watching it.

  5. It’s a ridiculous gimmick. We know where the players are; we can see them on our ever expanding television screens. If anything, it distracts from the actual play of the game.

I am a curmudgeon, mind you. (Insert Abe Simpson-esque « When I was young, Ballard was too cheap to put names on the jerseys, so we had to memorize the numbers! Uphill both ways!)

Marner is actually sitting at home controlling Matthews as his player

  7. LivingMisery

Hate it. Glowing puck bullshit. And seeing as how I’m already going, fuck the electronic boards too.

if this was NHL 06 that’d mean he can’t do the skill moves

  9. xtzferocity

Just looks dumb which is indicative of the entirety of sportsnets coverage of the NHL.
