  1. Remember growing up in Chicago area in the 60's and curving my street hockey stick to emulate Stan Mikita…good ol' days.

  2. 15:16 Whoa look at that speed! This is some solid hockey. Those goalies just go for it no helmet and all, and make the save. Pretty intense

  3. 15:16 I slowed this down. Bobby Hull gets from one blue line to the next in approx 2 seconds, give or take a tenth either way. The neutral zone is 15.24 meters. Speed=distance/time. After the conversions, this comes out to 27.4 km/h.(+/- 1.3 km/h) The guys at a recent All Star competition had a live tracker, and they were topping out at about 24-25 km/h racing around the rink 2019 NHL All-Star Skills Competition: Fastest Skater – YouTube . Don't listen to these motherfrackin dolts who say that modern players are better.

  4. Doesn’t this announcer know who plays goal for Chicago? Hasn’t mentioned his name on any great save he made! This is terrible. Loyd Pettit. Was the best !

  5. Alex D. should have been allowed to rush to the net more a real smooth passer, a good slap shot but underused Rushing skills.. down the slot or towards the net

  6. Normie Ullman scored 42 goals that year. He was a great player and played in Detroit for 12 years until he was traded in a major deal with Toronto in which Detroit received Frank Mahovlich. Detroit lost this series after winning the league title. I was just a kid and was really bummed out. The old Olympia Stadium rocked in those years….I was there many times with my Dad. Six teams in the NHL and great rivalries.

  7. As a recent fan of hockey (last 10 years) – it is great to see we have a historical record that we can look at online and catch up on all the true greats! After watching, I'm just as glued to this game from 1965 than I am in today's contests. I am amazed at the bravery of these goaltenders with little protection.

  8. I became a Detroit fan when I was a preteen because of Gordy Howe. This was a walk down memory lane for me. What a difference in the game of hockey then and now.

  9. And what's with is close-up of the goaltender when the play gets close to the net? I'm glad the camera staff don't do that anymore. The viewer totally misses the development of the play.
