I think the conversation, or thought per say, is less about what you are and more about how you relate to your fan base.
When I listen to your channel, I very much get the feeling/vibe that this is a unique small community of fans that enjoy talking Canucks. That relatableness you provide is why we are here. That being said, it gives off the ora that you are just an everyday fan and friend as opposed to an analyst. When I think of an analyst, I don’t connect a feeling of relatableness, friendship, and community. More so, I connect an expectation of facts and data without the relatableness part of the equation and I think that’s more the thought process behind Patrick’s comment.
You are an analyst, but you are more than that. You are the face of a community of Canuck loving fans that dabble into all the multifarious facets of the team and I thank you for what you provide.
Why can’t Clay be an “analyst”, anyways?Sounds like Patrick is projecting the limits of his own beliefs onto other people. He seems to have categorized you as a “Youtuber”. You do you Clay, the rest of us see you grinding your way to mainstream. You’re killing it!
Hey Canuck Clay, you did a great job on the radio. I think what Patrick was trying to say is that your insight and opinions are great, but he was shocked that someone on the radio would value your opinion a lot more than he thought. We can all debate if his approach was right or wrong, but in my eyes, it doesn't really matter if people consider you an analyst or not. You just keep doing what you do and your support will continue to grow! I hope you continue to do what you do though. I wouldn't be surprised if more of the analysts call you for more of your insight on a more regular basis! All the best.

Sportsnet 650 isn’t broadcast into most of BC, even on the Internet. We need a province wide broadcast. BC outside the lower mainland . , I believe the majority of Canucks fans. At least they are the ones ho support minor, or lower level hockey. Junior B, BCHL, or WHL. Thanks Clay for your Internet show and get busy supporting radio, or internet broadcasts into the entire land area of BC.
A good anylasis is right more times than he's wrong. That goes for a lot of subjects.
AMA: Hypothetically, let's assume next season does not go according to plan, even though Pod plays well and Hughes and Petey get signed. Benning is removed. Do any GMs out there interest you? How would you feel about Luongo taking the GM job?

Fun fact – I was a Senior Business Analyst for 11 years at a large size Canadian Corporation. They gave people the Analyst title because they have no idea what you actually do, nor they want to give you any meaningful responsibility. The title doesn't mean much. BTW, someone gave you a thumbs down for this video – I wonder who could that be hmm… 🙂 Keep up the good work Clay!
I find that to be a petty remark. There is no such thing as a college degree or official hockey "analyst" designation. If you know stuff and can articulate opinions in a coherent and interesting manner then you're an analyst. It's not rocket science. You came across well in the interview, as expected.👍
AMA: The most memorable Canadian Olympic moment for you?
One thing I know since I discovered CANUCKS CLAY, His very good at his work including his channel and specially the becoming RARE MUSICAL PARODIES(though sometimes it goes the other way🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍). Don't worry about that, there will always be a YIN and YANG on everything as long there is balance everything will be okay.

Honestly it's hilarious. You're an analyst on your channel analyzing different things. I don't know what sportsnet 650 is but i assume it's a channel of some sort.
I don't usually comment but I gotta say this: I appreciate your work and your takes. You're one of few channels i have at my disposal to get the latest news around the Vancouver Canucks because i'm far away in Sweden. I don't get access to the same news channels like someone local. I can very rarely catch the vancouver canucks games live on Viaplay (NHL streaming service over here) because of the time difference. I watch most of the away games on the east coast cause that's when it's "only" 6 hrs difference.
