  1. Adam you are soo wrong
Marner is so critical to the Leafs all teams know that
Shut down Marner you shut down scoring
    Period.
Currently they are understanding that secondary scoring is needed
But in playoffs they are still going to fix on Marner because he’s that good and Leafs needs his hockey brain

  2. Hate thst you sre putting this on Marner
Teams are closing him off because they know stop him you stop scoring

  3. In a universe where everything is literally possible, then the answer is Yes.

In the NHL where winning means hard work and personal sacrifice, this over-paid, over-hyped collection of manchildren leads one to believe the answer is No.

  4. Comparing other teams to the Leafs and their ridiculous salary cap allocation is just an exercise in mental masterbation.

  5. I look at this team and the journey it has had. I don't see this team as the one that can win the Cup. I think it's too defensively maligned for that to happen and is missing…something. I don't know what that something is. But you look at it and it just seems incomplete, somehow. That said, this team is so goofy they could absolutely win a Cup by sheer accident. Stranger things have happened in the near 110 year history of the NHL.

  6. i think ball clubs was using these advanced stats to determine when to take out pitchers in games. wether they was doing poorly or doing very good. imo it never worked. the question facing the leafs this post season is are they tough / ruggid enough to let marner do his thing. i totally agree, without mitch, they will not win a round. he did good in the tampa series, they won. he did poor in the florida series, they lost, now why ? simple, are they tough enough to let marner play ! am i the only one who sees that this is and has been a problem post season ? tampa tough was not nearly as dirty tough as the florida series.

  7. Dangle dreams of the Leafs winning like I dream of winning the lottery.
We both have the exact same odds of our dreams coming true.

  8. The biggest contributing factors to the Leafs win v TB were, Bunting taking out Cernak for the series- one of their two reliable defencemen-, TB were utterly spent, and the team had holes plugged with rookies.

  9. OK. so I told you jokers, steve et al. in 2018 that this core was too lightweight. You can carry 2 not 3 guys like that, ESPECIALLY at 11 million.

The next thing you'll come to realise in the next 5-6 years is that in the cap era, winners are built on 20 goal guys who grind, score, forecheck, hustle, are humble (who cares about AM scoring 70 because we want a cup run, why is he so happy?) etc.
we need a team of great all around two-way players, a RELIABLE GOALIE, SOLID Defence and 1-2 stars who score 30-40.

  10. Leafs against Boston and Florida this season are scoring around 1.5 goals per game and their PP is below 10%. Leaf PK is 5% lower than last year. Are they going to go far this year. Could happen but I doubt it.

  11. The only way this team wins is if 6 or 7 of the favourites are unexpectedly eliminated,,, the Leafs GM is talking about the Red Wings , did he look at the Detroit defence? Cause Toronto is no where near that D core! PS in the playoffs the more you advance in games the harder it becomes and at the exception of Nylander, the other 3 tend to disappear in critical moments!!!

  12. Leafs team is not built to beat Florida or Boston. They lack the physical play, good defensive system, goaltending and balanced scoring .

Unless they move out of the Atlantic . Beating these two teams should be the team build expectation. Otherwise they will never make it past the first or second round of the playoffs

  13. They didn't tell you that when Scotty Bowman came to the Wings, Yzerman was almost traded to Ottawa. Steve had to give up being merely an offensive weapon, he was also responsible for playing defense. Scotty was hard on Steve, telling him early on that he would be tough with him. Steve had to be the example for the rest of the team. And that's when the Wings' transformation began. That's how you become a winner. The man has four Stanley Cups on his resume.
