I didn’t watch it but I don’t see him doing the things Orr did however he is the best in this generation and probably the best since Orr

I’m as big of a Makar fan as anyone but I personally don’t like this label that is being put on him. Orr was obviously special and Cale has a long way to go to surpass him. It’s okay to say Cale has the tools and potential but let him play and worry about his place in hockey history in terms of player ranks once he has a longer career. I don’t think it’s particularly fair to Makar for people to say he is going to be better than Orr and he doesn’t need that pressure. I’m sure he will be in that conversation one day but for now just let him forge his own path and end up where he will end up

Smart kid, obviously had NCAA in mind and chose to forego major junior. Maybe a surprising path but safe to say it worked out well for him!

I’m not sure how ever hockey fan is so sure that Gretzky or Orr are better than current best players. Just because they were so much better than their competition at the time, doesn’t make them better players imo.
That argument doesn’t work for me when the overall talent and depth has improved so god damn much over the years in the NHL and the game has changed drastically.
People act like you’re insane just because they have those stats and don’t look at the full picture.

If he keeps injuries at bay and keeps at this pace, yup, absolutely.
