My Gm move for the day would be to bleed off some of our forwards to get Reilly on a long term deal (to 35?). Not sure how much that would take or how to go about it (Spezza or Gabriel or both? Not huge into the finances lol), but Reilly locked in for a couple more years would be cool!

@danvincible from Halifax. Trade Rielly and Mikhailov for prospects, then trade those prospects for a top 4 defenseman (or draft a defenseman) before you lose both players for nothing. Won't be able to fit Rielly in under the cap, don't lose yet another player for nothing — letting players walk for nothing is wasting resources and draining the talent tank.

If Clayton Mishak was announced Leaf GM for a day the first thing I would do is make the following public and team knowledge. All potential UFAs will be traded before the start of their final contracted season if they don't sign an extension beforehand. It will be the same for everyone, no hard feelings, the only players to play out the year as a UFA would be people who are fighting to still stay in the league, veteran players. It will become the business' mantra, set in stone.
Just after the Leafs were turfed by the Habs, I left my 34 Mathew's jersey on the front seat of my unlocked truck. When I returned, there was a Marner jersey beside it.

Gm for a day i would trade Morgan Rielly because they won't be able to sign him and why lose him for nothing so get some draft picks and a good reliable defenceman with grit because they lost muzzin last year in the play offs and that was a big part of them losing to Montreal, they need to play Sandin and get him to run the powerplay and also bring up Robertson and Lilligran and give them a chance to prove themselfs.
If I was GM for a day for the leafs, I have no idea what I would do. I feel like Dubas has done enough for the leafs but they haven’t for him. Although, I think a legitimate third line centre would be great to recreate that centre depth we used to have. Could have saved us in last years playoffs 😞.

Trade Reilly for picks/prospects. Assuming to get a first in the return. Take those assets and other picks/prospects to Arizona for Chychrun.

Chychrun for our own first, first received and a b prospect

The St. Louis thing was he didn't get picked by Yzerman for 2 Olympics in a row even though he was playing great and for the second Stamkos got injured so he replaced him and won gold. The trade was said to be mostly about family though

Mikhevey for Picks or a like a really good washer/drier combo- Like the fancy samsung with the nice chyme ring, something like that. One of Ritchie, Bunting, Kampf, and I think Ho-Sang are going to pop off in the top six.
