I didn't mind Matt Murray with the Leafs. Sure, he was prone to injury, but his fundamentals are very sound, and he does have that Championship pedigree.
Having 4 goalies can't hurt.
What a story that would be if he came back and killed it in the playoffs as the number one😅

If Matt Murray were to return it would likely mean Marner is out for at least the rest of the regular season.

It wouldn't surprise me if the leafs use him in the playoffs…like its going to make a difference. They are out round 1. Period. Other then Rielly a tram full of 3rd pairing D isnt going to get past rd 1

Murray when and if healthy has the ability to go on a run and be a solid playoff tender. He played some solid hockey last year in short spurts. Possibly they rest Marner until the playoffs and they give Marray a couple games before season ends, Leafs aren't going to pass Boston or Florida, Marner resting if they can finish 3rd is a positive for Leafs. Allows Keefe to find chemistry with other players. Marner with Taveras and Nylander pushed to 3rd line makes team stronger 5 on 5. Domi, Mcmann and Bertuzzi playing with Mathews and developing chemistry is a huge plus, allows Knies to play against 3rd line players, I would also like to see Mcmann given 3rd line center, good on draws, nice speed and has solid core strength. Knies, Mcmann and Nylander would be a solid 3rd line. Jarnkrok, Mathews and Domi, Bertuzzi with Taveras, Marner, Holberg with Kampf and Reaves. Not alot of people remember Mcmann, lated center in junior and Marlies, Nylander takes draws on off wing.😊
