Most of these guys look relatively the same… and then there’s Ovi who looks 20- 30 years older now

I think if Kane played a full 82 game season he could’ve got to the 90 points threshold.
Crosby missed 5 games as well, he could have beaten Benn with those extra games

That’s why you can’t compare different eras. Eleven 100 point guys last year, and two with 99.
Sucks we didn’t get to see prime Sid in today’s game.

I remember that season so clearly. It was my freshman year of college. My parents never had cable growing up so I only ever got to watch the national broadcast NBC games on weekends. That was the first season I could actually watch every Stars game. Benn getting a hat trick and then an assist with like 10 seconds remaining in the final game was insane for me.

Can someone explain what rules have changed since then that we have seen such a dramatic uptic in scoring? Is it just talent or are refs more quickly calling penalties?

I googled this last night with the same thoughts

Goalies were in their prime. You had Price with a .933 season, Dubnyk, Crawford, Lundqvist, Rinne, and few more all over .920🔥

Was lucky enough to be at the game in Dallas when Jamie won it. AAC was electric and it’s the best moment I’ve seen live to this day

Teams like Montreal nyr st louis Minnesota Chicago shut down opposing offenses. Even mainly offensive teams like Washington and Tampa had better goaltending and defense than years prior
