complete nonsense in the title. they got shut out. that isn't a struggling power play, that's horrible lineups. Saros wasn't even particularly good, and didn't have to be. he was hardly challenged, bc Lalonde put out the worst top 6 possible. no other coach in the league is using that top 6 w the personnel he has. Larkin Kane DeBrincat, given an entire game, would have produced at least 1 goal at 5v5. the Predators are very grateful to Lalonde for not trying to win and for using lineups that hamstring all his best players. Kane Cat Larkin has 13 goals together (6 against) in 118 minutes of ice time. the ENTIRE top 6 from the last 2 games, those two lines, has 11 goals (17 against) in 315 minutes. Larkin Cat Kane BY ITSELF would score 3x as many goals as the entire current top 6, given the same amount of ice time.
31 other NHL coaches would use Kane Cat Larkin. and they would make the playoffs. the Wings are going to miss the playoffs, and it's going to be entirely Derek Lalonde's fault. and after they do miss, and the lineups never are fixed, i see no way Kane (the team's best player since arriving by just about every analytic available) willingly returns and puts himself at the mercy of this coach again, who doesn't reward performance or punish non-performance, but plays favorites even when it literally costs his team the playoffs.

Don't like Seider's excuse(s) about the team playing, if I'm not mistaken, for 60 minutes? Scratching my head thinking he was off by quite a bit. In fact, looked like they were waiting, for the most part, until the Preds scored before they decided to hustle in the last 5 minutes. Just gonna come out and say it—- these guys are not honest with the fans. You gotta play for 60 minutes, not for the last 5 minutes, especially after the opponent scores!! These guys are unbelievable. With the exception of a few, I would be thoroughly disappointed with these guys, especially with Petry not putting a stick on his opponent or at least a forecheck. You can't play from behind in the last 5-6 minutes and expect to win or at least tie. The objective was supposed to get at least a point in every game. Of course, most on this Wings roster will not allow it. Hoping that Stevie Y doesn't sign most of these guys. This is pathetic. We were up nearly 10 points and screwed up bigly. The Preds weren't even playing their best. This was the chance to at least get 1 point. Stevie Y has to stop kidding himself with this same roster for the next season. We are down to within a dozen games. You can't afford to just lose without getting any points whatever. The last thing any fan wants to hear are excuses about a good game. We lost. That's the bottom line. You can't get to the playoffs unless you win. Did you all forget that? Keep making the excuses. The Wings will get that much closer to watching the playoffs on TV.

Former NHL “enforcers” Chris Simon and Konstantinos Koltsov, most likely with CTE, commit suicide on the same day this past week. NHL needs to do more to prevent this. I don’t want to see a nice guy like Moritz Seider ending up with CTE.
Why is it whenever I watch other nhl games the wings look so slow, no one can pass the puck properly or handle a pass properly. They don't skate well like other teams, or come up with any of the scoring chances other teams get. I watch any other team, and there passing crisper and getting way more shots on the net. The wings seem to have no idea how to get pucks to the net for prime scoring opportunities! They have no creativity when it comes to puck movement or scoring goals. IMO I think there are lacking puck IQ or hockey iq. How to create space, where to be, when to be there, etc. Its very frustrating. It could also be the coaches fault and the plays he has them run or style. I don't know…they have to attack the net more!!!! There's rarely someone in front of net to screen the goalie and have some one snipe one in or have rebounds and 2nd or 3rd attempts to knock in net.
They should send Berggren back down to GR if they're going to scratch him, with Sprong being scratched as well he's definitely not going to get into any games
