Another disappointing weekend as a Pens fan. When is the first T-time on the course??
At least WBS won one, and Yager's trending close to 100 pts.
Rust can't even stay healthy. That is a terrible idea. They need to bring Guentzel back or sign Sam Reinhart.
Would be nice to get Jake back, but in reality I don't see it. They would have to move alot of money out and I don't see them outbidding anyone for him.
I think we need to find the next Patrick Hornqvist. That would be my next priority.
I don't mind this idea. They need a few more bunting and rust types that are young and tenacious. We don't need one $10 mil player we need two or three good $3,4,5 mil players. Rak can rebound, maybe move smith out and create more room and hope doc and pusti continue to progress. Maybe add a brand new fourth line that can actually shut a team down and we can turn this night mare around. I think fixing the forward group is much easier then addressing the defense. That worries me the most. The defense is terrible and giving games away at this point.
Nick how would you address the defense in the off season?
Slide Malkin up to first line wing with Crosby and Rust. Go find a good second line Center.
No way Jake is gonna sign with pitt nxt yr. Y would pitt sign him? 2 expensive. WE NEED CHANGE. MOVE FWD. As much as I'd like 2 see him come back.
Why would Jake come back to this dumpster fire? Next Guenzel? Rust a 30 something had his chance all along.

We're in this situation because of "Keep the Core together"- we should've let Malkin go,signed Guentzel and went to a YOUNGER team with the hopes of them maturing and getting better – instead of signing high priced talent(?) like EK,Smith, Graves.personally I widh we could keep Ned as a backup,but we're probably not going to be able to.I don't think Jarry is a Stanley Cup winning goalie but I'm wondering if he'd be better with a strong, competent defense playing in front of him. I'm a diehard lifelong Pittsburgh Penguins fan- I've seen this team play in the early 70's and watched & suffered and enjoyed much throughout the team's history – so it'll be interesting to see what changes come about.that being said
I do see the coaching staff being dismantled, Sullivan may stay but ghe others are gone.I was very excited with the Penguins getting EKand I had thought the Steelers had the future in Kenny Pickett,but now it's not such a bright future for the Pens & Steelers,but we've got to stand behind our teams and support them . Hopefully they'll both get better and be competitive and fun to watch & cheer for again soon.Please Remember and Never Forget the UNBELIEVABLE winning tradition we Pittsburgh fans have been truly Blessed to have had, we've been the " City of Champions" not just because of the Sports teams- but us Pittsburghers as well.Yinz be patient and believe – better days ARE ahead.Only problem with rust is he is too injury prone, constantly misses extended periods of time.
They need somebody that will stand in front of the net . And Pens need a Defense . Offense gets you to the Playoffs , Defense wins Cups . And please make me happy and tell me Letang is retiring .
Need to get rid of dead weight like Joseph . Oh but we know why they will never deal him .
Here's a thought… how about a player who can throw a hit or a check? How about a defenseman who can move someone from in front of the goalie… you know, like other teams do against the Pens. How about a few players who don't mind getting into a scrum. To quote coach Therrien… "this team is sofff… I never see such a sofff team like this team".
Who would you rather have, Jake Guentzel or Sam Reinhart? Both are going to get around the same amount in contracts this off season. I’d much rather have Reinhart and his style of play.
Why not Yager or Poulin as Crosby’s winger? Young and hungry is what he likes and needs.
While Jake is in the building, can we please get a big chant of "DUBAS SUCKS" going in the next game?
Get sid a decent sniper and leave rust with him. They mostly need bottom 6 players and figure out what to do with graves he’s awful.
There's also Bunting who has hit the road running. Neither him nor Rust is a Guentzel, but between the two of them they might do the job.

With Sullivan in charge the young guys wont get a fair shot….he likes the vets and the good ol boy system
