When you see this, keep in mind that Berkly Catton (born January 2006) is draft eligible this year and is 2 years younger than either Firkus (April 2004) or Goyette (March 2004) who are both in their draft +2 seasons.
Those extra 2 years are MASSIVE for development and the fact that Catton is already scoring at this level is why he’s projected as a top-10 pick in a few months.
P.S. Heidt (March 2005) is a Wild 2023 2nd round pick, that looks like a potential draft steal.
Funk (July 2003) is interesting as he barely scored in his draft years and thus went undrafted before exploding offensively this season. Caps signed him as a free agent just like the Kraken signed Kartye and it’ll be interesting to see if he could be a late bloomer type of player. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/zac-funk
