For as bad as the season has been it isn’t even hyperbolic to say that with just an average powerplay we are either in a playoff spot or sitting right outside.

I think if the coaches said ‘do whatever you want’ we would score more than we do playing ‘the system’.

Probably could have just used Olofsson as a PP specialist and bumped the numbers up quite.

Then you look at teams like PHI and DET who are just average and are in the PO. Even WSH is slightly below average and I’m sure a few wins have come off the back of their PP.
With an average PP this team is in the playoffs. Which says a lot of things about this roster/staff:
1. This shows AT MINIMUM the assistants need to be fired if they are responsible for the PP.
2. The team didn’t win 3 in a row the first half of the season and still even with a decent PP we are either in or right at the door.
3. This teams record doesn’t reflect our talent/skill level. At 5v5 we are very good and even though many players have taken a step back (points wise) that hasn’t been our biggest problem.
The PP has by far been our biggest problem. You can’t have the talent we do and be at the bottom of the league.

Imagine in 2018 if you told Sabres fans that in 6 years we’d be right there with the Penguins, Blackhawks, and Sharks 😍
