I don’t understand the Hellebuyck Vezina talk. Seems like he too often lets in a early one. And then last night, when you need a game saving stop, he lets one in. LB needs more starts.
The jets are slumping just in time. They will dig themselves out just in time for the playoffs. Some bad luck, these same games they were won in three months ago. Agree about Lauer tho.

Our team is the Cleveland Browns of the NHL (I'm a fan of theirs and the Packers btw). I seriously think our team should blow everything up and gut everything. What's the point of keeping things the way they are if we keep choking at the end of the season. Let's get ourselves a young GM & HC to grow with the team like Eric Tulsky and Ryan Warsofsky and tank next year to get my guy Michael Misa. Build our team around Michael Misa, Rutger McGroarty, Brad Lambert and Gabe Vilardi. Maybe trade for Cody Glass and K'andre Miller in the off – season. Let's build our team in being the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NHL (Which I'm a major fan of too along with the Boston Celtics).
The team has done nothing to disprove those comments. The effort is not there every night. The best players are not the best player most of the time. And the stubbornness of Bones to make changes when it's clear certain combinations aren't working. He demotes Ehlers for inconsistency, but does nothing to Connor, who is constantly lazy in his own zone. He scratches Samberg, who has been the third best defensemen for the team, but keep Pionk in the line-up, playing 20 minutes a game, and playing terribly.
This is a system team that does not have good enough players to carry the team when the system breaks down. Once they fall behind, 9 out of 10 times, the game is over.
Defencemen are exposed. 88 is an awful player. He got a dumb penalty and sens scored, and he couldn't get the puck out and stumbled and fell instead of being aware of the shooter that is on his left. No he skates backwards puck watching. Horrible shouldn't be kill penalties.
The jets special teams are a joke PP absolutely no structure or clue what they're supposed to be doing.
PK just hangs zero pressure and can't clear to save they're lives.

Chances are these 3 teams are gonna catch up to the Jets in the standings. 1. Vegas these guys are the defending cup champions and went through their slump and now doing as good as they are now playing like that cup favourite team again, 2. Nashville the point streak has ended and that's the main and only reason they haven't passed the Jets and 3. The Leafs but I don't know how likely this is if the Jets can start doing decent-alright next game or upcoming close games. It's just tough to see this happening.
Other then 44 Stanley has been our best D the past 3 games.
The whole time vilardi was out I was hoping for 91 to jump to the 1st line and maybe get him going. But they plugged iafalo there every game.
I hate to see the jets collapse like this again, we did really well, but now it's pure chaos now.
We gotta keep ehlers on the first line if were gonna win.
I have questions about the O-zone roles for the D men. DeMelo, Dillon and Samberg to be effective their 1st priority has to be getting pucks through to the net (usually from above the circle). Pionk, Schmidt, Morrissey need to be playing off the weak side into the center, so they can T one up if they get a pass, or pick either post for a redirect, and do bumper passes to someone streaking in front. Rather than always spreading it out and cycling If your Ofensive D-man is not moving into the center of the ice to get passes, and is always just spread out, then there is no wonder that you can't get anything through.
Spoke too soon
The system isn’t the issue, it’s players that can’t or won’t adhere to it. A defence that can’t clear the zone. Nate Schmidt can’t clear a puck to save his life, Pionk passes blindly to the opposing team. The Star players “coast” and refuse to back check leaving the goalies to deal with odd man rushes on a consistent basis. Lazy star players and others not focused enough to hit an empty net. No aggression on special teams. There is something wrong with the mental fortitude of certain players and it’s been infecting the whole team for a long time.
They made the playoffs so they wanna coast, but getting booed off the ice during fan appreciation night, there’s a time and place for half efforts, and that’s the last few games of the season where things don’t matter.

It seems like Winnipeg has forgotten what it was like to lose their NHL team. Now that they put the NDP in charge of their province, they economy will only get worse… much worse. Get ready to cheer for the Houston Jets folks, because you're gonna lose your team again.
