**Fuck** the refs of this season, and **fuck** the referees of this game that neglected to give us any power plays. The game was literally decided by a **fucking powerplay.**

How many people will be fired when they don’t even make the playoffs
This team just cracks under pressure every time there’s an important game. There is no reason why a one goal defecit should feel like an impossible uphill battle. It’s crazy we have to worry about what St. Louis does now, but it definitely feels like it’s what the Kings asked for.
Team not good enough. Need real players who can finish. Plain and simple. Need to get rid of Trevor Lewis. We need real skill players. Need to get a new coach too. This team isnt good enough to race through the neutral zone passing. We waste our legs like crazy turning the puck over on failed zone entries then having to change direction booking it the other way.
Byfield has disappeared down the stretch. Where are you Quinton? Where has Brandt Clarke been ? Organization has not taken winning THIS season seriously. Only fired Todd because he strangled the fuck outta the team and lost for a month straight. Seems Heller is beginning to do the same. Tonight you watch a game like this and see where so many things could use improvement.

That was a horrible loss. Score was close, but they really didn’t play well at all for most of that one.
Sitting Kaliyev and Thomas for most of the game seemed to take its toll near the end, as well. Plus, with Danault out… ugh.
Dubois was horrible out there, which sucks. He’s been solid for a while now, but he really sucked in this one. This team man… I wish they’d just fuckin take it to the net. Like, they just played a whole game with 10 shots on goal or something and they’re trying to pass it in net to start this game… just crash the net please, holy fuck. GKG

I’m wondering what coaching change could be made in the offseason that would get PLD on track. He doesn’t seem like the kind of player that would respond well to an intense coach like Babcock or Torts. Does he need to be in a less “defensive” system to be successful?
I miss Brownie. Dude would’ve killed someone on the ice and then scolded this locker room. I’m starting to think without a guy like that SOMEWHERE in the locker room we’re not gonna win shit. Somebody has to get these guys to play with some pride. Just unacceptable to have such an embarrassing season and not have a single player show some signs of life

at the end of the day making the playoffs papers over the cracks. realistic odds of winning this year are astronomically low. the effort on the ice to me is an indication the players know it themselves.

What do we need to do this offseason to fix this
Being a kings fan is way more enjoyable when you don’t watch the games. Was busy tonight, checked the score at the end of the game and saw “aww” then went about my evening.
This team just doesn’t have “it”
Went to the Dodger game, so I had to miss the game. Then I checked Instagram in better area for service to see how the boys did against Villardi, and to my horror I see a « Kings win » April fools post and learned Akil barely played on his debut. 💔
At this point, I’m not even rooting for the playoffs. It’ll just be a disappointing first round loss… again.
A few thoughts:
1. This team needs a sports psychologist bad
2. PLD simply has to do more at 8.5 – and I’m not hating on the guy, he had the highest xGF on moneypuck last night for us, at some point he needs to actually convert points and goals period. You can’t make excuses with QB flying all over the ice and Fiala making chances for himself and Kopi always in the right spot day in day out. You can choose ANY of these styles (and lord knows PLD likes slower more deliberate positioning) but you HAVE to convert the points and goals otherwise fans and teammates will turn against you. It’s just life.
3. Where’s Trevor gone? Adrian? The entire third and fourth line wings? We need you to score.
4. Remember this is still the team that was at one point ranked #1 on power rankings. Is it looking like a first round exit? Yup. But get Danault back and someone instill some swagger back into these guys and we’ll see.
Number 8 seed of we’re lucky with the way we’re playing. Playoffs are not a guarantee. So disappointing. This was supposed to be the best team of the last 3 seasons. Ends up being the most disappointing.
