I remember when he was drafted it is a good memory of mine (I’m just a couple years younger than him) he was a bright spot in a dark time for our team. He made the games I watched fun. Congrats to him bittersweet but I’m glad it turned out this way

He was such a fun player to watch. I wanted Nino in that draft year but Skinner quickly grew on me. He skated so differently from any other hockey player I’d seen before. A fun person on and off the ice. It sucked when he left – at that time, it felt like the one person who made canes hockey exciting was leaving. Now I feel bad for him – 1000 games played and no playoffs.
