Maximum pain infliction is this team’s game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they give us one last burst of hope again. Why must they hurt us?
Only consolation is knowing that Nashville will be destroyed in the playoffs. I hope DA is able to unload anyone over 25 in the off season.

This season was a pretty big disaster. Didn’t suck enough to get a good pick. Almost had playoffs. Couldn’t move anyone (Krug,Faulk,Buch) at the deadline. Our defense is worse than ever and our special teams have taken 3 steps back.
1 bright spot is Neighbors.
And Binny who did his absolute best to drag the carcass of the Blues to the playoffs. On any other team he’s in Vezina conversations.
There are so many fans that are relishing in this loss that can go kick sand. You guys are big douschers. Those that have been riding the team this year, good stuff. It’s been a roller coaster.
Now we just need the sharks to win tonight, us go undefeated, and kings go 3-3 with 2 ducks and blackhawks game on their schedule. We got this!
I wanna see someone question Buchnevich, Thomas and Faulk for dissapearing in arguably the most important game of the season. Thomas made a few decent plays but hooooly

Faulk needs to be fired into the sun. Dude has been playing half asses the entire season. Buch and Thomas need to be questioned on wtf they’ve been doing lately.

Can’t say it was for lack of effort but man that sucked. What a frustrating game to lose to the gaht damn mustard cats.
Why do we play faulk? Why doesn’t he sit? I’m not a Scandella fan, but he has had a better year than faulk. Perunovich has been better. Kessel has been better. Even tucker has been better. Why do we insist on playing Faulk so goddamn much?
Put Kessel with Krug again, Leddy and Parayko are fin I guess, and play perunovich with Tucker or Scandella. Faulk sucks this year yet we have him play 20 minutes a night.
Also, tf happened to Buch? Like just hasn’t been the same this past year. He’s had spurts, but nothing consistent.
I came into the game late (middle second) but the best, most consistent line not stuck in our zone during that time: Blais/Walker/Kap.
It sucks Binner had a “rough” (in quotes because it wasn’t the worst just not up to his standard) game tonight. You have to take your chances when you get them and the blues just… didn’t/couldnt.
Two full years of rebuild down the tubes with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Unless another team completely fucks up their final six games the season is over, let the kids and non-big-contract guys play. At best it’s a lot of fun, at worst it helps us in the Lotto

So, in terms of development, what do y’all think about these changes? For the rest of the season and into next season.
1. Torpo to 3rd line. Pair him with Bolduc. Maybe call up Dean/Gaudette? I’d rather them get time than Blais or Alexandrov. I’m starting to believe I’d rather them get the time than Kapanen, too.
2. Sit Faulk, play Scandella. Or, sit Tucker and play Scandella. In a perfect world I think you sit Faulk and Tucker and play Scandella/Rosen but I doubt that’s happening
3. I wanna see Hofer get more starts, I think we know Binner is great and we should now let him rest.
4. Try and package/trade ASAP: Hayes, Kapanen, Faulk, Krug, Blais.
Assets you could pair the above with to maybe make it palletable for another team: Buchnevich, Leddy

Time to embrace the tank. We could easily drop below 5 other teams based on current points. Isles, Pens, Caps, Red Wings, and Wil are all within 3 points or less of the Blues.

I hate it when the St. Louis Blues lose hockey games. I also hate it when the St. Louis Blues miss the playoffs.
The pain and abject weirdness of that loss still burns deep inside of me, but I’m not gonna moan and wail. The skaters on our Cup team had to learn how to manage play and games, and learning sucks all ass. That’s just how it works. The key is summer. Army needs to be shrewdly and specifically aggressive like he was in 18. Keep bringing the kids along. Find a real coach. Someone with an actual plan who doesn’t repeat mistakes over and over. Trade up in the draft and get Dickinson, we have the extra picks to do it and several of the top 10 are already loaded with hot shit young Dmen. Remove Krug, somehow, as painlessly as ppossible. Solve the 2C issue. Be smart, then play smart. Details. The small details have been murdering us for two seasons. We reduced the mistakes some from last season, now reduce them again, but more. Better puck decisions than last season, but we need even better next season. This is Army’s summer to fucking shine, he needs to smash it. This team, with all its warts, is capable of holding a playoff spot right now. We just fuck around and find out too much. We’ve got one of the best tandems in net, Parayko is finally a Jedi, Leddy remembered he’s not half bad, we’ll have five 25 goal scorers without Schenn being one of them and three of them are 26 or under, we have some speedy psychos for the energy roles, we finally have a proper net front scorer again. There’s plenty to work off of here. Get to work, Army. Time to smash the summer again. We know you know how.
Everyone moaning that we won’t have a high pick is forgetting that we don’t need no stinking top 5 picks to grab Neighbours and Snuggy and Dvorsky and Lindstein and Barby and Vladdy and Schwartzy and Colt and Dunner and so forth. If there’s one thing I do not stress over with this franchise it’s the draft scouting department. Those guys crush it almost every year. Besides, I still bet Army trades up.
