Feel like it’s gotta be Kylington, Couturier and Andersen but I’d have Sammy close behind those three. Being terrible and not claimed on waivers despite a cheap one year deal is huge. Took a week off. Spoke with his father. Came back focused. But. I’m biased.

I was big on Samsonov, even kept defending him up until 3 months ago when it was finally clear that it was time to give up and I was wrong. I went from thinking the Leafs really could have stolen a goalie here to right off a cliff one day during a particularly bad game. I would have bet anything that he was never playing in the NHL again. It is absolutely incredible that he has turned it around like this and I am super happy for him.

Good nomination and better timing. Hopefully this pumps Sammy up, and helps a little in him staying mentally strong in the playoffs. Its gotta feel good to be the nom for Masterton, and it shows that the team trusts him and thinks he’s « back ».
