Felt like we had hustle in the offensive zone but wayyy too many bad defensive breakdowns
Power play is just awful lol. Every other team is making snappy passes and moving their feet. Canucks move it up high and look for seam passes but none of the guys down low ever move and get to a dangerous position. So many times im saying “move it” watching a D stickhandle the puck for 30 seconds at the blueline
The doom and gloom is so crazy when we are losing

I thought the PP looked good but one complaint I have is how little they pass to Garland or whoever else is in that role since it gets shifted every 3 games. You can tell it throws the player off when they finally do because of how rarely it happens. PP1 can’t rely on the same passing every single time especially if petey isn’t shooting anymore.
Every other team’s top 6 is fast enough to skate the puck into open ice wherever they are on the ice.
Us on the other hand, are so fucking slow that 90 percent of the game we are dumping the puck in from the centre line and praying to god that we make it in to forecheck. And we arent skating fast enough to get there most of the time either.
Demko coming back will help but we wont win fucking games playing this way. We wont score the goals we need still.
LA is the type of team that shuts us down but gets stomped on by a bottom feeder the next game.
Most people think its defensive breakdowns but I think its just our D-guys forgetting Demko isn’t in net….

My biggest issue with Petey isn’t the scoreless drought. There’s a clear distinction between the amount of effort and grunt work he puts into his game vs Miller, Hog, Garland, Hughes, Joshua etc. There’s no intensity or passion, and we should stop excusing him with ‘another injury’
Im sorry but we’re getting destroyed no matter what team we play in the first round. There is NO passion or drive on this team anymore. Only way we make it out is if Demko stands on his head.

We went from riding the PDO wave to being down 4-1 in a game where we have a 58 xGF%. We’ve had an extended stretch here where we’ve gotten the shit end of the statistical variance stick… and we’re still at the top of our division (for now).
How have the Canucks just fallen off a cliff since the all-star break? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this in my life.

Let’s be real, Vancouver is playing fine. This is a goaltending issue. I know DeSmith is a nice guy, but you just can’t win in this league with this kind of goaltending. It’s beyond back breaking. The Oilers dealt with it early in the year, and they couldn’t win then either.
It’s not even about « oh we need a goalie to steal games. » We literally just need a goalie to come up with a save on the PK. We’re outshooting LA and playing them pretty even. This should not be a 4-1 game.
I’m not worried about the playoffs unless it turns out that Demko isn’t ready to go for Game 1.
I really hope the Demko injury is our only real problem…. Otherwise we’re getting absolutely cooked in playoffs

I don’t understand folks blaming Tocc for putting Garland and Joshua with Miller. If you reunite the Thirst line, you would have to put two of Mikheyev, Suter, Podkolzon and even Lafferty in the top 6. None of those guys can buy a goal right now

I think the problem with us right now is DeSmith. Not having the best night either. Carson Soucy also probably could’ve stopped that goal where it made it 4-1. Not really fair when you have an all-star goalie going up against a backup either. Whatever. When Demko is back we will be better.

I can’t really remember the last game I watched where I truly felt entertained, we have flashes of brilliance from individuals , but the last time I’ve been wow’d by this team was months ago
