  1. The Hockey Guy: Good news if you are an Avs fan, they've beaten them [Dallas] every time they've played them this year.
also the Hockey Guy: I don't see how the Winnipeg Jets can beat the Denver based Avelanche.
    Dec 7 Jets 4 vs Aves 2
    Dec 16 Jets 6 vs Aves 2
Those are the only games those 2 teams have played this season. I couldn't help but notice the exact same scenario with polar opposite commentary… BIAS against the Jets.
The Hockey Guy loves talking shit against the Jets… "they are playing good"…. "but we will have to see if they can make it out of the first round" always a negative compliment!!

  2. The Leafs very much might catch Florida, what? They’re back 5 points, 2 games in hand, AND play Florida at the end of the year. That’s a potential 6 point swing that they have total control over

  3. You can conjecture pre playoffs power rankings by the playing aptitude /attitude, of the pretenders for the Cup. If they play a disciplined game knowing how to properly hold on to a lead, without whining about questionable officiating it's likely that, that team will ultimately succeed. Look wagering on sports is not a wise investment, however suggesting the power abilities of a given team as they face the playoffs and the incoming rounds is within the realm of predictability. So GFI = GO FOR IT SHANNON and take it from there!!!

  4. Admittedly I thought it was over for the penguins. I dk if it’s bunting, the team figuring it out, or just refusing to die, but it’s nice to see the team still alive this time of year.

  5. The last time the Rangers won the Cup they also won the President's Trophy, so I'm not too worried about them doing "too well" in the regular season. Could VAN make the finals and play NYR for a 1994 throwback?

  6. Interesting, looks like my post last night with 3 stats for 12 teams was shadowbanned. Too much text maybe? Let's try just Canes, Rangers, and Bruins then Records are RegW-OTW-OTL-RegL format with (Pts %) in the first (Reg W %) [vs #1] in the second and (Reg L %) with the last.

Over the last 50 games, Carolina has the most regulation wins and the fewest regulation losses.

    CAR 29-5-6-10 (.740) – NYR 25-8-3-14 (.690) – BOS 20-7-11-12 (.650)

Since January 1st, Carolina has the best regulation win percentage against top row Power Ranked teams. In addition, over this period when playing against a week's #1 Power Ranked team Carolina has 3 wins and 0 losses compared to a combined 2 wins and 7 losses by the 11 other teams.

    CAR 7-1-0-4 (58.3, 7 of 12) [W vs NYR Jan 2, W vs FLA Feb 22, W vs FLA Mar 14]

    BOS 8-3-3-2 (50.0, 8 of 16) [L vs NYR Mar 21]

    NYR 2-3-1-4 (20.0, 2 of 10) [L vs FLA Mar 4]

Since the start of the year, Carolina has the best record following a loss. Their last consecutive regulation losses were on Dec 7 & 9 at the end of a 4 game losing streak.

    CAR 11-0-1-0 (0.0, 0 of 12) – BOS 6-5-6-2 (10.5, 2 of 19) – NYR 9-0-0-6 (40.0, 6 of 15)

  7. Montreal have figured out their first line, their goalies and maybe top pair D for next year. now, they HAVE to work out the 3 others lines and bottom 4D.
Bottom 4D should be easy with Mailloux and Xhekaj as certain. For fowards, Dach is probably the fix for 2C but we'll see. as for wingers, just trade the lot and get new ones.
