  1. How is he proving montreal wrong when montreal always believed in him? He was given many chances and everyone knew he could do better that's why so many fans got frustrated. Letting him go wasn't a question of losing faith in him, we all knew he would end up being so so much better with another team. It had just came to a point where clearly it would be better for him to go play elsewhere instead of staying in the unhealthy environment he was in mentally in montreal with all the pressure. There is 0 proving anyone wrong here, it's just a question of a good player being able to play in a stress free (in comparison) situation now

  2. Not bad at all for a season. He will get about 20 goals 60 points, which is what you can expect of him going forward. Not a superstar, but a good player.

  3. I don’t think he proved them wrong actually. It was more proving he can’t play under the glare in Montreal. Bad fit

  4. No he just stunk while here in Montreal, the pressure was too much for him. Colorado is pressure free …… Montreal gave him every opportunity to succeed

  5. The Habs were not wrong… JD had some difficulties, but to my knowledge it did not come from the fan base… that always supported him… what is between the ears is always a mystery… good for him to be happy in Colorado.

  6. Jon is playing in a less stressful market & playing as i expected 🤔but when it's in the second round of the playoffs the pressure will increase 🤔i wish him well, but Montreal did the right thing trading him away for all side's concerned GO HABS GO 💕💕💕💕💕

  7. No he is not proving montreal wrong. The guy has been drafted third, and hasn't lived up to his third overall pick. He is not the biggest worker and he doesn't play the game the best way(he cannot play linear game, he's always playing for complicated plays). I guess you can say that he proved the Canadian wrong by failing to meet the very high expectation placed on him, he couldn't handled the pressure at all and he cannot elevate other talents like a real top tier player. On the contrary, he needs top talent to be successfull, so he's a good piece to pluck onto a well built lineup, not the other way around. This still has value as some top end team need cheap talent guy that can play an high paced game on a good lineup that can compensate for his many flaws. He'll stay in the nhl as long as he has a relatively cheap contract and play with good enough talent.

  8. Uh what did the Habs do besides give him as much opportunity to play and allow him to retreat when he needed time off? Was their failure not giving another contract? Or were they wrong because they couldn't trade for Nate McKinnon? Sometimes relationships don't work out, it doesn't mean someone was wrong.

  9. I remember saying give Drouin a chance and no one agreed with me… Now look what happens

  10. I imagine Montreal could have gotten a nice return if he wasn't trash when playing for the habs, but they got nothing cause he had no value. Screw him.

  11. He was converted to play center for one season with the Habs. That's how he now excels in winning faceoffs and playing 100-foot game.

  12. Timeline just didn't worked. Also, in Colorado he's not in the spotlight and he can just play as a complementary piece with Mackinnon.
But nobody's proving anybody wrong, the timeline isn't the same.

  13. Not on Montreal. This is on J-man and some of the fans; just couldn't play under the pressure they put on a Quebec born player. Too much pressure by the fans. The team gave him time and space, but he never adapted to this market. Now that the monkey is off his back to be the next Guy Lafleur, he can be J-man and go back to enjoying playing hockey again. I am so happy for him. I hope for the next wave of young players coming along, fans can learn to welcome players and not rip them apart online.

  14. I dont agree, he had all the chance playing on the top line in montreal , the thing is that there is no Mckanon no rantanen and no makar in montreal, also is not a really good player under pressure, and at this time his salary was much higher. Let see what he does in playoff.

  15. So it only took 2 superstar linesmen to unlock Drouin's abilities………🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder how many points Slafkovsky would have playing with Mackinnon and Rantanen.

  16. he actually proved the Canadiens were right. Everyone and their mothers were saying was that he needed a new start away from Montréal.

  17. How is he proving the Habs wrong? I've never heard anyone from management say anything negative about him. His time here was done, and everyone has moved on .

  18. I disagree with your analysis. Drouin had all the talent in the world. He should be an 80+ point player if he put in the effort. He lost his passion for playing at some point either before or after coming to Montreal. He then went through some personal issues that we don't know much about. He missed out on the Stanley Cup run which was very disappointing. I'm glad he took care of his mental health, but I'm still disappointed in his effort level with the Habs. He could have been a hero in Quebec, but in stead is just a bad memory. His numbers in Colorado are largely due to the players around him.

  19. I'm honestly very upset that the Avs won't be able to resign Drouin. He has been really good defensively and has also found the chemistry with Nate that we all hoped to see. I don't blame Montreal or Tampa, sometimes things don't work out. And sometimes they do. I'm honestly hoping the Avs can trade a contract away and find a way to resign him. However, he has earned a pay day and will probably get what he deserves elsewhere and I don't blame him. I'm trying to enjoy watching him make magic with Nate while I can. I think most people cheer for him and want to see him succeed. Jeez, after reading the comments I guess I'm wrong. Many people apparently don't care for him. Yall just need to support people and not just a team
