"I think in this we want to crown the next guy so quickly sometimes, we want to discount where another guy is" THIS. And to be honest, this is an understatement. We are, as a fan base, infected with the most intense recency bias. Any time some guy has good stretch (these are all generously long but- 4 games for the birds, 15 for the flyers/sixers, or a 30 game stretch for the phils) we anoint him the teams savior and are ready to chuck a proven starter in the trash. This is honestly one of two things that piss me off about our fan base. Seeler and Drysdale come back, likely too soon, aren't playing at the levels pre-injury and everyone is ready to cut them. Thank god we have some rational GM's.Oh and another thing that pisses off is how the fan base pretends like this never happened when Said Savior reverts to mediocrity and Shunned Starter returns to form. KEEP BEING THE ANTI-HOMER MYRTETUS we need atleast one voice of reason in this city gone mad.
Whatever the theoretical assumptions are between the coaches and the players for the deplorable eight games that were played, the Flyers as a professional organization should play these last three games with a win for the diehard fans (all ages from different generations) around the world. Just win out these three games for us fans. If there's no commitment for that then we should all hold off on buying any current/upcoming Flyers related merchandise.
My one hope this off season is that they pick up a veteran goalie like Cam Talbot who can give Errson a more balanced schedule like they did with Carter Hart and Brian Elliott.
I understand that u want to look at the stats as far as shots for and against, but over this losing streak look at the high quality scoring opportunities the opponents are getting. Alot of them are coming from below the circles and they are QUALITY chances. Also u can't ignore the chances we get we can't finish! That is very concerning.
IMAGINE A 3 GAME WIN STREAK AND THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS WILL PLAY IMAGINE LATER JUST CAUSE I LIKE JOHN AND STILL PRAYING LOOKS BLEAK BUT IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER RIP YOGI BLAME GAME JUST ONE HARTS EXIT MAYBE PLAYING THRU WOULD OF MADE HIM LOOK BETTER IN THE PUBLIC EYE BUT NOPE RUN AND HIDE MAKE FOR A GUILTY LOOK EITHER WAY SOMEONE'S GONNA GET PAID GOLD DIGGER OR HURT MENTALLY SEEMS ODD AFTER HE GETS FAMOUS I HOPE HE GETS OFF OF THIS PERSON OR PERSONS TAKES THE MONEY AND RUNS WASTE ALL THE COURTS TIME AND POLICE AND WRITES A LETTER TO JUDGE ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS AND WON'T TESTIFY KOBE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND HE DIDN'T DO A DAY IN JAIL STILL MARRIED AND STILL PLAYED SHAME ON YOU CART YOU PUT THE FLYERS IN THIS SPOT NOT TORTS THE THE GOALIES NOT THE PLAYERS THERE I SAID MY PEACE GOD BLESS THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS.
Have they tried turning it off and on again?
I believe there is hope for Errson! A reset is possible! Look at Toronto Maple Leafs and Ilya Samsonov they gave him time off he had a mental reset and turned himself around in net! He is fantastic again!
